MEDICAL OFFICE QUALITY
I purchased the Biobeam 940 (Pail Relief Infrared Light Therapy) based upon information I received from my doctor about the professional model she uses in her practice. My husband and I both use this product several times a week and the results we have experienced are incredible. We are able to sit watching television or reading while using the product so it is very convenient. I highly recommend this product.

not worth the price
I bought this as an additional treatment for knee and calf pain from old injuries and some arthritis. For the last 2 weeks I've used this exclusively to see if it works. The result is maybe it works a little. I read the short manual and followed directions. I've been using it for 30-60 minutes whenever I have pain or discomfort (about 2-3 times per week). While using it I feel a very slight warmth which indicates it is doing something. Following treatment I seem to detect a very slight improvement which may be a placebo effect. There are 3 problems with this unit which I'll explain below:1.) I've had treatments with a class IV laser in the past which is very powerful and produces instant pain relief. By comparison the Biobeam 940 is too weak to produce instant results. Perhaps if you use it every day for an hour, you'll get noticeable relief in a week or so. I just didn't notice any real dramatic relief with this device. Even a TENS unit provides more relief in one treatment.2.) Another major problem with the Biobeam 940 is the size. The head which is used to treat an area is about the size of a half a dollar. This is too small and barely covers 2 knuckles on your hand. When using it I have to take turns using it first on my knee and then again on my calf. If you want to use it on a larger area such as your back it will only hit one small spot which means it will be minimally effective or not effective at all.3.) Holding the device for 30-60 minutes on a painful spot can be painful itself. My shoulder started to ache the first time I used it. To solve that problem I used an ace bandage to hold the Biobeam in place. This allowed me to do other things without having to hold the unit in place.Overall there seems to be some minor results from using this. However, because the results are so minor and because of the reasons you just read I can't recommend this device at all. For what it does, which is very little, the price is way too high.
