Purina Fancy Feast Senior Wet Cat Food 7 Years Plus Tuna Feast In Gravy Minced - (Pack of 24) 3 oz. Cans

My male cat loves this Tuna Minced in gravy for Seniors! He’s 9 years old and I just recently switched to this. I think it could use a little more gravy (he loves gravy in his food), but he hasn’t complained. Great product!!

Saxon the Wonder Cat is a very picky eater. She normally will eat only dry food and just ignores all people food and wet cat food. She has two fountains and drinks a lot of water so I’ve assumed she stays hydrated. I’m not sure why I decided to buy the Fancy Feast tuna. Maybe because it is marketed as being for senior cats and since Saxon and I are both pretty “senior”… We have three or four cases minus one can of other wet cat food sitting around as testaments to Saxon’s pickiness but I’m a slow learner so… Anyway, she loves this stuff. Normally Saxon is pretty regal but when she hears me pull the tab on the Fancy Feast she abandons all her “queenliness” and comes running. She eats about half a can then goes and lays down for a few minutes before coming back to eat about half of what’s left. Then she crashes either on or under my bed for the rest of the evening. Overnight, the final remnants of the Fancy Feast disappear. I guess cats do midnight snacks, too. The bottom line is that we’re going to make the Fancy Feast tuna a permanent part of our meal plan. We’ll stick with the dry food, too — which, btw, is Temptations cat treats, which we buy in the 48 ounce bags. She likes all flavors of the Temptations treats and we go through 2 or 3 bags a month. I guess that may decrease now that we’ve discovered the Fancy Feast tuna.

I have a few picky eaters. They ate this on occasion but not consistently. Nicely sized for older cats who may have trouble eating. Very juicy. Just not Lily's main jam.

My old guy (11yo) really likes this food and I really think he's more lovely after a meal of this, especially when it's a morning meal. I wish it came in other flavors.

By forcibly channeling me back to a previous review (for minced turkey), Amazon is saying: "Write something up for Fancy Feast IN GENERAL. Specific flavors, textures, components don't matter -- It's all the same--just cat food." Maybe Nestle is pressuring Amazon to group all reviews from consumers so the company won't be pressured to alter any of their factory machines and marketing priorities. So why, then, does Nestle charge different prices for different flavors within the Fancy Feast brand? Try to get through to Amazon about cat food. It's hopeless from the start. My review is no longer for minced turkey (it didn't work). Creamy Delights offered some of the same appeal as the cans with gravy. But previously this product (with milk added) was visibly white on top and crumbly in texture. The most recent batch was all plain "Paté," making me question if Nestle had made a big mistake in labeling. Anyway, it's hard to maintain a cat's interest (unlike dogs, they retain the DNA of "the wild," and are at heart predators that love to pounce on smaller prey). So flavors and textures are extremely important to making our pets content in caged, unnatural environments. My aunt was a socially conscious reformer and demonstrator on behalf of many causes (she also worked to teach the deaf and blind and to improve the living conditions of immigrants). When she could no longer shop for herself, I would buy groceries for her. She always said: "But don't buy Nestle." I'm not sure why this particular company met with such strong disapproval, but now I'm motivated to dig a little deeper--whether on her behalf or my own (and that of consumers in general).
