Best Landscaping Tool EVER!!!
My new go-to gardening/landscaping tool. Lightweight (less than 5 pounds with a 3 AH battery), versatile, ergonomically comfortable (easy to switch from left hand to right hand when getting into tight spots), easy to use one or two handed. Using with 3AH batteries - gives me plenty of time to work. I always need a break before my fully charged saw runs out of battery life. FYI - this is not in use for mere landscape maintenance. Husband (with chainsaw) and I have been slowly hand-clearing quick growing invasive trees from a half acre lot. You can’t imagine how fast these demon trees grow lol. Chainsaw is too heavy for me and way too much maintenance. This wonderful “grab and go” tool is a game-changer, allowing me to get into tight places my husband hasn’t had a chance to get to yet. Easily saws through up to 4” branches, would probably do more, but safety first. Also cuts through roots with no worries about running into rocks (my carbide blades actually cut cleanly through rocks - just once by accident, but boy was I surprised). The only thing it won’t do is cut thin, floppy branches. Since the saw goes back and forth, it just grabs those and shakes them. Minor, since I can easily cut those with loppers anyway. I would have gotten one of these years ago if I had known how life-changing it would be. Love this tool! :-)

Don’t waste time researching
I spent so much time researching and comparing. Contemplating the purchase. I Have an old Chicago reciprocating saw that I always dread using and thought I could make do. So happy with my purchase. Light weight, easy to zip around the property. Has already in three weeks came in very handy on multiple projects including landscaping, treehouse for the kids and demo on lots of items that needed cut down to get into the dump. Most of the time I am able to use only one hand, others require more force two hands. Worth every penny.

I'm liking the atomic line
I like that with the smaller size the power welas not sacrificed. Huge difference in size and weight from my previous model. This is much more easier to work with, especially for a dyi-er. I would say its speed is above the old xr model and it's does not feel that it vibrates as much. The blades can be changed in a seconds. Not the the older models offered a less quality build, but the atomics really feel focused on ergonomics and comfort for small dyi jobs around the house

Your definitely find a use for it.
Used upon receiving. Cut away conifer branches on 15 large conifers prior to cutting down. Used 2 5ah batteries and Lennox blades. Let the saw do the work. I was dreading the job but did it with ease. Quoted £150 for the work so got a free saw, money left over and a day in the sun. Lightweight, compact and handy. Very happy with purchase.

Arrived promptly, works great!
The DeWalt 20V Max brushless reciprocating saw (Atomic line) uses the same batteries as the XR line. I popped my 4Ah 20V XR jigsaw battery onto this reciprocating saw and it seemlessly worked. The DeWalt XR line usually has larger batteries whereas the DeWalt Atomic line is usually a bit lighter with lower capacity batteries, but the batteries are interchangeable. Changing blades is easy: rotate the lever to unlock. The tool arrived in a cardboard box including printed user manual, one wood blade, and one shorter metal blade. The unit is lightweight and can be easily held in one hand. There is a small LED light which should help in darker locations. The unit can stand upright for temporary storage while working with it. A metal belt hook is also included and you will need a small philips screwdriver to fasten it onto the tool using the included small philips screw. I have cut 2" plastic pipe with this tool and have also used it to cut small tree branches. I did not have any issues with vibration. Overall, my experiences with this DeWalt tool, and other DeWalt tools in general, have been very positive.
