These are very delicious, very simple. They are easy to season to whatever you are making, and so soft. Easy to cook, good quality, and great value

These noodles are so quick to make, and you can do so much with them. They’re soft but still have a nice chew to them, thinner than what I’m used to most udon noodles being, but I find I really like that when it comes to stir-frying. They also hold on to sauce really well, and when used in broth, they’re easy on the stomach. They’re tied in portions, which I find super convenient for serving sizes, and grouping them together seems to keep them from being tossed around and broken. I’ve ordered multiple times and never had any broken bundles, disregarding the odd end piece. While easy to make, I have to insist on rinsing once they’re done boiling - to keep them from getting too soft and to make sure they’re not too salty. Otherwise, great for any meal at any time!

We were looking for a buckwheat udon noodle after we had a fantastic appetizer using this ingredient at an upscale restaurant. We tried a few different brands and this one was our favorite. The noodles had the right texture and held shape. Good value as you get about two and a half pounds of dry noodles for about $6.

I adore these noodles. I don't know how these precious noodles make me feel so pampered, but they do. They're individually wrapped in little bundles. I mean, have you ever?? Well anyway, I'm saving myself a fortune cooking my own udon noodles. You got to get with these noodles. They're so delicious. They cook up in no time. They taste so good and they're easy to use. And it's a lot healthier for you to cook for yourself. Top quality

I usually think of udon as much thicker, maybe 5-6mm, almost pencil-thick. This was more like the ~3mm thickness of ramen - not that I'm complaining. Some good noodle joints have opened up lately in the places I frequent, and I frequent them happily. But noodle soups are such basic good food that I had to try them at home. Well, the "noodle" part is easy, using this. The "soup" part is harder, having to get the balance of flavors right, and having to get the broth to meld with the noodles as well as the nori, egg, vegetables, and whatever else goes on top. I'm making progress in that respect, but not at the level of Tampopo or the Ramen Girl . Not yet, maybe never, but the journey's worth far more than the destination (if in fact there is one). BTW, if the moment arises, I recommend seeing those two flicks back to back.) -- wiredweird
