Americanflat has become my go-to brand for getting photos and artwork out of storage and onto the walls. I've purchased several of their frames recently, and this one continues the trend. What I liked: * clean, attractive appearance * good value for the price * available in uncommon sizes * easy way to avoid custom framing costs * consistent quality These aren't gallery-quality frames, but they're not trying to be. Most of my artwork consists of prints from local artists and personal photos, and for that purpose they're an excellent fit. They look nice once they're on the wall without costing a fortune. One thing I especially appreciate is the variety of sizes Americanflat offers. It's surprisingly difficult to find frames for less common print dimensions, and having an off-the-shelf option can save a significant amount compared to having custom mats cut or ordering a custom frame. If the size you need is available in Americanflat's Signature Collection, I'd recommend taking a look at those as well. I think they're a noticeable step up in fit and finish for only a little more money. Unfortunately, that line doesn't include every size, so sometimes this collection is the only practical choice. I've been happy with every Americanflat frame I've purchased so far, and this one is no exception. If you need a well-made, reasonably priced frame—especially in an uncommon size—it's an easy recommendation.

I recently picked up this 14x18 Americanflat frame to replace an old frame for a football collectible, and I’m really impressed with the quality for the price. The black engineered wood has a clean, wide profile that looks much more expensive than it actually is. What I liked: Polished Plexiglass: I was worried about it looking "plastic," but it’s crystal clear and much lighter/safer than heavy glass for wall mounting. (Just remember to peel the protective film off both sides!) Sturdy Build: The frame feels solid, and the hanging hardware makes it easy to flip between vertical or horizontal display . Modern Aesthetic: The wide border gives my photos a professional, "gallery" look. It arrived well-packaged with no scratches. If you're looking for a simple, modern frame that doesn't break the bank, this is it!

I bought the Americanflat 14x22 Picture Frame with polished plexiglass specifically for some odd-sized Broadway posters, and it absolutely delivered. The frame was easy to put together, felt sturdy, and the plexiglass looks clean and clear without distracting from the artwork. Fit was spot-on, which can be hard to find with non-standard poster sizes. Once mounted, everything looked sharp and professional—this frame did a hell of a job. Highly recommended for theater posters or any prints that don’t fit the usual dimensions.

I was already wary based on the reviews, but it seems like everyone covered all the major points. It isn’t very well made and would probably not last if you’re handling it roughly or it falls as it’s only being held by a few staples. That said, there are not many major practical complaints as it arrived in good condition. It can get your job done. I ordered an open box one that was packaged well although it did seem to have quite a few unnatural knicks, but most of them are not visible when on the wall. The frame itself feels like a cheap compressed wood but is light in terms of weight. It honestly feels like an $18-$25 frame (i.e. more expensive then the quality reflects), but I do like that it is really easy to use with somewhat loose sliding clasps and a loose backboard. I would recommend taping your picture in though if it is not snug to the actual size of the window. The clear plastic that protects the picture also had a film that was easy to remove (and did seem to help; there were a TON of scratches on it but it didn’t seem to transfer underneath). The hanging hooks are only available on the wooden frame rather then traditionally on the back board. And unlike the description, it does not supply a nail for installation. It does include a wire though. Tl;dr it’s not the most value frames I’ve ever bought, and I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but it will suffice for what you need it to do. Packaging was good— although with a good delivery person it might be overkill as there is no glass that might be shattered. The quality of the frame is not great, but once it’s on the wall you can barely tell. It seems to be a bit easier to install in comparison to big box art store brands.

I’ve bought multiples of the black Americanflat frames in the past. Those have held up great so I am sharing a review for the 24x36 that I recently bought. These frames are a great affordable frame option. They have a decent level of weight to them and the amount of size options there are makes it convenient to keep growing a matching set, such as I have done for poster collecting. Out of the total 4 frames I have purchased at various times in the past years, they’ve all been delivered undamaged.

Background: I'm a semi-pro photographer with more than 15 years of experience, and I have previously worked in a pro frame shop for a short period of time framing flat art of all sizes. I was looking for an inexpensive frame to replace damaged art in a high traffic area of our home. I purchased a 16x16 inch black frame with plexiglass glazing, and I'm overall happy with this purchase. The frame was well packaged and arrived safely two days after I ordered (with Amazon Prime). The plexiglass had a layer of film on either side to keep it protected and then the frame had styrofoam and cardboard protectors on the corners, was wrapped in plastic, and packaged inside a thin layer of styrofoam in a fitted box. IMO just enough packaging to protect the frame without being excessive. The frame is pre-strung with hangers to orient it vertically or horizontally (kind of unnecessary in this case since the frame is square) and comes with a wire hanger and instructions to attach it. The hanging wire provided is a thicker/stiffer than needed for this application and longer than needed so you do need wire cutters to trim it to size, but it works. Assembling the frame and installing my art was easy. The plexiglass is thin and flexes easily so it needs a little guidance to get it to sit square in the frame rabbet. My plexiglass had a couple small (about 1/4 inch) scratches about 2 inches from the edge (visible before I removed the protective backing), so not perfect but not too large or in a place where it would be conspicuous. The frame itself is nicely assembled, with two "staples" joining each corner and the corners well aligned and flush. You can see a slight seam at two of the corners since the material itself is not black all the way through, but this is only upon examining closely and not noticeable from viewing distance (I didn't feel it required any touch up). I found the surface material of the frame to be nicely manufactured - no scratches, dings, bubbling, chips, or other imperfections. I believe the frame is sturdy enough to not warp over time, especially considering the overall light weight of the piece thanks to the plexi glazing. This is a cheap frame with thin plastic glazing. The materials are not archival, the glazing is not optical grade, and its less than $30 for the 16x16 size. For the price, I think it is a great option for inexpensively framing midsize art. If anything, I'd like to see felt or rubberized bumpers added to the package so that the corners of the frame don't rest directly on the wall. The piece we wanted to frame was art that I had commissioned of our pup, and unfortunately the hanger supplied with the original frame failed and resulted in the piece falling to the ground, shattering the glass, breaking the frame, and scratching the original print. Because the art itself was damaged and I have the digital file to reprint it in the future if necessary, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a replacement frame and wasn't very concerned about having a perfect optical surface, and this was perfect for safely getting our picture back on our walls. Since the art hangs near our front door and we have a dog and a baby on the way, I actually liked the idea of using plexi and not having to worry about a repeat crash and shatter incident. I think this is a great buy for the money for inexpensive art, and the five star rating I have provided is reflective of the price point and expectations I had for this item. If you have a high value or one of a kind piece you want to last a long time, invest in professional framing and use archival materials and quality UV protective optical glass or acrylic to protect your artwork. If you just want to hang some cheap prints on your walls without spending a ton of money, this is a great option.

This is the first time I write a review because I looked for a frame for months for a very special gift. Believe me I’m a perfectionist, I had my eyes on another handmade frame before this one and was devastated when the owner canceled my order last minute. Anyway I bought this frame as a backup plan but it ended up exceeding my expectations and looked even better than the frame I wanted before this one. I honestly wanted to take a picture to post in my review but I forgot and now I already gave it as a gift (sorry! Lol). Anyway I’ll list all the pros: -Looks just like the picture displayed (It’s a smooth frame with a good balance of shine and matt and looks very sophisticated) -Flexible Plexiglass thats hard to break and doesn’t glare light -Perfectly in line frame corners -Same exact size as advertised (I used it for an 18x24 inch poster) -Light weight -Easy to hang (has both side and top hooks to be used for hanging and comes with a wire to hang) -Safely packaged with not a single scratch or even the slightest damaged (by the way I shipped this to Saudi Arabia and was super worried it would arrive looking dodgy. It had foam in the box + extra protection on the corners to protect the frame itself and the plexiglass had a protector on both sides to be peeled off...it looked brand new)

Pretty pricey but unless you can get kmart manufacturers to make it you'll never get it any cheaper Kmart sells giant poster size frames at $20AUD (61x91.5cm) wayyy bigger then this, thats why china is so awesome anything the price of this frame i just bought which as stated SMALLER than that kmart frame at a real custom frame company will be over $100-$200 bucks, wtf!! Also this frame size it too unique for australian measurements aswell, for years the poster i wanted to frame was left untouched, googling for the frame size i want, no options anywhere (yes i even tried amazon) But for some reason this year i tried amazon again, i found the size in the U.S AND it offered free international prime shipping Totally worth it, i dont care its pricey (over $60AUD) i can finally frame my poster and move on to other projects P.S the clips that hold the back of the frame move side to side and screwed on, this is great, push them in or out and it frees the back or locks it in Unlike other backboards the clips dont get pulled back or pushed in which is great as they can get worn out and they can break

The frame looks great and was easy to put together however it is very Flimsy and fell apart as soon as it was hung. The clear plastic broke. Very disappointing for $100.

I am a painter and needed a large frame to display one of mine. I like that there are multiple frame widths (I like simple black with a wider matte, because my paintings are very colourful. This was decently priced and is very decent quality. The plexiglass is nice and thick. I will buy more of these for sure.
