My poor dog has had a horrible year with itching and allergies especially throughout the summer months into the fall months until now! I tried four different chewable suppliments touting allergy remediation without 'any' success. Then I found Pet MD's Hydrocortisone 1% Spray. This is the best product! We actually saw an immediate difference to her red, sore skin from scratching within 48 hours and the itching within 24 hours. She's actually regrowing her fur again in these hot spot areas. A 100% improvement! This spray is designed for allergies, dermatitis and hot spots and remediated of these issues. Amazing!

100% effective for hot spots. I have a 12 year old Golden Retriever and after I took him to the lake he got hot spots In between his TOES! It was awful and in such a tough spot. I looked up multiple reviews and went with this one, and it did NOT disappoint. I did not have to bring him to the vet for expensive hot spot treatments. I cleaned his paws with soap and water, blew dry on warm until dry and then sprayed in between each pad pad. I did this as instructed on the bottle, mostly 2-3x a day. I had to do it for 2 weeks and keep his cone on, he did not like that. I think the treatment took longer because of the spots they were in. They were only on his front paws in between so he would lick them easily whenever I thought they were healed and took the cone off. Eventually after 2 weeks and consistent treatments, he was healed! No vet needed. One bottle lasted and I still have some left in the bottle. When I first sprayed they were tender and he pulled away but they were completely open and raw, but after a day or so, no pain.

I really like this spray to put on places that itch on my dog. It seems to really work well and there’s no smell to it. I gave it a four because I thought it was a little pricey.

This spray has been MAGICAL! My cat Zipper had licked all the fur off his belly, overgrooming, starting in June, about 6 months ago. After taking allergy pills for a bit which were ineffective, he learned to lick around a soft cone, then also a full body onesie. He had multiple vet visits resulting in a steroid prescription, which also weren't really working. BUT THEN.... I got this spray and it's been like MAGIC. Sprayed his belly 3x a day for 5-6 days (or sprayed my hand and rubbed him with it for a few of those days), and he has completely STOPPED licking! It smells medicine-y, and would probably taste terrible too. The hydrocortisone seemed to heal up his sore spots and calmed the allergy (hot spot, or whatever), and seemed to "break the habit" of his licking. I haven't used the spray for about 2 days now, and he hasn't resumed any licking AT ALL, at least for now. I'm keeping an eye on him, and if he starts licking again, I'll spray him again, but for now.... not to jinx it, but.... he seemed CURED! I'm incredibly impressed and amazed this has worked so well! Such a relief after such an extensive problem. SO THANKFUL! 15000 out of 5 stars.

This spray definitely helps my cat’s allergies, it reduces the itching. However, the relief doesn’t last very long. I find myself having to use it every single day, sometimes more than once. It’s not very convenient, and I wish the results lasted longer. It’s a decent temporary fix, but not a long-term solution.

This works so good for red hot spots on dogs.

Shocked at how quickly this worked. My miniature pinscher had been gnawing at her tail for almost a week, and I noticed she’d started losing fur—basically the beginning of a bald spot. When I looked closer, she had actually broken the skin and there was a visible sore. I’m usually hesitant to try OTC wellness products on pets, but I’m currently caregiving and didn’t have the time (or energy) for a vet visit—and my dog would make that visit an ordeal anyway. When the product arrived, I distracted her with a treat and sprayed it on her tail. She glanced back but showed no signs of discomfort—no stinging at all, or she definitely would have let me know. After just two days of spraying it 2–3 times daily, she completely stopped biting at the area. It’s now been about a week, and the sore is clearly healing and the area is already improving.

Good product but dont get the spray bottle, get a sqeeze tube. The sound of the spraying scares the cat making it incredibly hard to apply. You would think a spray is easier but its not.
