Simply put, these enable you to connect your newer USB-C only phones/devices to all those things that you used to use (& more now) when you had a 3.5mm port on your phone/device. I have been reliably using these for streaming music, podcasts & youtube, etc. to a quality soundbar, a Pulse Bluetooth speaker (wired w/ Bluetooth off) &, a vintage 2+1 powered stereo PC speaker set all at the same time using 3.5mm splitters from this adapter. Yes, I know it seems silly w/ all those wires BUT, it does sound really great with this adapter's built in DAC chip using a variety of decent sounding equipment I already own from many years ago to recently. I do also use this adapter w/ an Anker 6 in 1 adapter to connect newer cellphones to my large TV via HDMI and to a seperate vintage HiFi stereo system (this adapter to double male ended cable & 3.5mm to 1/4" phono adapter plug), while charging phone & not casting to my smart TV (that's not connected to WiFi often) for web browsing, shopping, photos, music, video content &, movies, etc. These also work great for those gazillion wired earbuds laying around you can use/carry again as backup to your wireless earbuds or, your older "High End" wired stereo headsets. A caveat being that, depending on the power requirements of those really expensive headsets, there could be a lower max volume output, such as with a pair of older Oppo cans I tested. Haven't had an issue w/ smaller & recent headset models tested yet. NOTE: To help minimize wear of the USB-C ports, I utilize magnetic USB-C connectors which, do work with this adapter without compromising the sound quality (to my ear). Magnetic connectors make connecting from device to device quick & easy while protecting that only USB-C port you have from dirt, water (water resistant), & excessive wear occurring from repeated and or fumbling attempts to insert USB-C connectors on the go, in poor weather or light conditions, etc. I've tried other brands that failed, these havent failed in months & are a great value for the $$. The sound quality of Amazon's Fire HD 10 is just adequate for most casual uses,. There isn't any detailed technical specs available, so I have to base my comments on actual listening. When I plugged the Auxlink Hifi Pro adapter into the USB C port of my Fire HD 10, it worked immediately without further actions or software downloads (very easy!). The sound was louder than the output from the tablet's earphone jack and noticibly clearer. To get the same level of loudness with the same program material, I had to use the Fire HD 10's volume controls and adjust them higher by a fair amount. The Auxlink Hifi Pro is a cheap and super easy way to take your Fire HD 10's sound to a higher level of quality for less than $10. To me, that's a no-brainer game changer . BTW, the listening phones I used is a set of high fidelity Audio Technica AIR ATH-AD700X open back over the ear headphones that are my go-to phones for casual to long critical listening sessions and work superbly with the Auxlink Hifi Pro audio output processor device. These are somewhat harder to drives than tiny in-ear buds, so the Auxlink Hifi Pro seems well capable of driving any reasonably sensitive earbuds, IEMs, or headphones.

I have3 used both Wired Headsets with and without microphones. They sound great. No buzzing or interference. One drawback there is no charge port built in. But the others I've bought with charge ports do not sound as good. Most have a buzzing even without charging active. I can lay my phone on a Qi Charger while I use it. I use a Samsung Galaxy S22+

The AuxLink Hi-Fi pro is a HUGE bang for the buck. This adapter is such a great deal! It is easy to use, tiny, and sturdy. It may be small, but it can handle digital-quality audio. The high quality DAC allows up to 384Khz/32bit just as advertised. There is no static sound when using this adaptor. The sound is crisp and loud. I am also very pleased with how secure and tight the fit is when connecting my 3.5mm earphones into this adaptor. I had purchased a cheap $5 adaptor and my major complaint with the cheaper adaptor is how loose the fit is when connecting my earphones into the adaptor. Sometimes causing the audio to stop in one side until I pushed the 3.5mm aux end into the adaptor again. A very annoying problem and which is why I decided to purchase this higher quality adaptor. I highly recommend this adaptor and for the price it is a good buy. Do not be fooled by the cheaper 3.5mm/type-c adaptors as you will not be satisfied as I wasn't. I also want to explain why you need an USB C adapter. Following Apple’s ‘brave’ move to ditch the headphone jack, many rivals have done the same. This means USB-C is a common connection for headphones, but how does it compare to the traditional 3.5mm jack? Ok, so Apple wasn’t the first tech brand to remove the physical headphone port from a phone, but those that went before - the likes of Oppo and Motorola – but they didn’t make the same impact. Let’s tackle the fairly obvious first. If your phone (or other device) doesn’t have a headphone jack then you’ll need to plug in via USB-C (assuming that’s the port of choice). We’re ignoring the existence of Bluetooth here, but you can, of course get wireless headphones. The 3.5 mm outputs analog audio waves preprocessed by smartphone’s internal DAC and pre-amp. In this case, all a headphone/earphone needs to do is pass the wave directly to the diaphragm. The analog audio wave will drive the speaker. When it comes to USB Type C, they transmit digital audio data out from the port. Your normal earphones will not understand the audio data and cannot be used with this. In this scenario, the earphone which connects to the USB Type-C port should have A DAC (Digital to analog converter) and a pre-amplifier before passing the sound to the diaphragms. In fact, the Type C port is still able to output analog audio through its SBU pins. I have a Samsung S22, and it's the first smartphone I have had where there wasn't an auxiliary port for my wired ear clips. I'm sure wireless Bluetooth ear buds would work just fine, but I'm not a fan of ear buds, so that meant I needed a USB-C to auxiliary converter adapter so that my wired ear clips would work. I tried ordering some cheap USB-C to aux adapters off eBay that said "they worked for Samsung S22," but they did not work well at all; those adapters would do funny things like cut in and out and turn on Google Assistant constantly, so basically I couldn't listen to music via my ear clips or the aux input in my car. I am in the process of upgrading the car stereo to an aftermarket unit where an aux input won't be needed, but I'm still wanting to use ear clips when running/jogging or at work and so forth. I did some further research and discovered that in order to use an aux cable properly, these adapters need to have a DAC chip in them, which the AuxLink product has. And, although immaterial to functionality, the wire adapter came with a carrying bag, which was nice. Bottom line, this adapter has worked for me without cutting out or interfering with other phone functions.

It worked amazingly at first. Like the sound was incredible. I couldn't believe how much better the music sounded coming through this little cord! But then, only days after buying it, it just stopped working, and it seemed like for no reason at all. Like I used it hours befor ed and it worked fine and then I came back out to my car a few hour later. Went to plug in my phone with the cord but it wont even recognize I'm plugging it in. Just stopped working all together even though there is nothing wrong with the cord at all. And this was literally only after using it for a few days.

I have some pairs of great headphones with a regular stereo jack but now that phones no longer have a headphone jack, I'm not about to just buy new headphones. This little converter does the job, it's sturdy and preserves the sound quality. And if you add a power/sound USB3 splitter you can use your favorite wired headphones and charge your phone at the same time. Great buy, works great.
