Product Description Blu-ray/DVD COMBO. desertcart.com The Hellsing Ultimate OVA (2006) continues the popular vampire broadcast series Hellsing (2001), both of which were based on a manga by Kouta Hirano. Deadly vampires and ghouls are stalking England, which means Sir Integra Hellsing and her minions must take them out. The overwrought duel between Hellsing's super-vampire Arucard and Father Alexander Anderson, a bio-engineered vampire in the service of the Vatican's murderous Iscariot Organization, gets put on hold when the Valentine Brothers, Jan and Luke, lead an all-ghoul army in an assault on Sir Integra's stronghold. Arucard, the newly recruited "Draculina" Seras, and Walter the Butler defeat the invaders amid buckets of blood. Hellsing and the leader of the Iscariot Organization discover the force behind the attack is the Millennium Brigade, a cadre of Nazis who moved their research program involving the undead to South America after World War II--with the assistance of the pope. As the first half of the OVA ends, the Nazis launch an attack on Britain--incongruously setting off in zeppelins. Ultimate is a veritable gore fest, serving up even more violence than the original program. Characters are dismembered, bodies torn apart, eyes gouged, and corpses devoured. But it's not a particularly original series: the shooting effects are copied from Terminator 2, while the ghouls recall The Night of the Living Dead. These first four episodes waste more blood and bullets than a Charles Bronson film festival. The filmmakers seem to be out to offend everyone and they largely succeed, climaxing with a Nazi officer declaring, "I love holocausts." (Rated TV MA, appropriate for ages 18 and older: graphic violence, violence against women, sadism, grotesque imagery, tobacco use, extensive profanity, potentially offensive religious imagery, ethnic slurs) --Charles Solomon Review: Great series - I only did the DVD's in English, but I loved the first four episodes. Also with the different trailers, art and interviews. I have the other two box sets so this completes my collection of Hellsing Ultimate. Warning: Violence, and Gore. Must buy if you like vampires. Review: Hellsing Ultimate: Volumes 1-4 [Blu-ray/DVD Combo] - I absolutely LOVE the Hellsing Ultimate series. Unlike the regular Hellsing anime, this revamp follows the manga. I love the plot. It drew me in and won't let go, although I can't really say I want to be let go of. Basically the daughter of Van Hellsing, her servant Alucard, his servant Seras Victoria, the butler Walter, Mercenaries, and a host of other people, fight rouge vampires and ghouls in England. There is a lot of blood, fighting, shooting, decapitation, and other forms of violence. Unlike a lot of vampire anime's, this one starts off with a bang and the action never stops. I can't wait for the conclusion, Volumes 9 & 10, to come out on Blu-ray/ DVD combo. Ive watched them with subtitles and I loved it. My only gripe: I think Crispin Freeman's voice is better suited to the character Alucard. As well as the other characters. The setting is England, but the Japanese voices have no English accent. This holds true for the German accents as well. It kind of throws the concept. If I had to compare it to anything, it'd be Baccano, because of the violence, but honestly the Hellsing series', (both Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate), are so far beyond that. It's beyond anything. The Hellsing Ultimate series is on a level of it own, and I love it.

The definitive version of this anime
This anime series is amazing, the animation, the characters, voice acting, MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC, are all wonderful. Listen to the English voice actor commentary on this movie and you will learn that these actors and actresses really care about their role for this OVA series. The voice actor for Alucard is absolutely incredible by the way. Also this OVA series goes way beyond what the original anime portrayed and in my opinion is better. It has zombie/vampire Nazis in it and a Hitler wannabe! One highlight of this volume is the part where part of the story is set to the opera Der Freischutz by Carl Maria von Weber. Before watching this anime I never heard of Der Freischutz, but now I love that opera! The things you learn from anime!! Again I want to stress the music in particular for this series. It is beautiful. The animation also is just gorgeous and wonderful. Cannot wait for the rest of the series to come to the states. Final note is Blu-ray is the way to go with this show to witness the sharp lines, beautiful colors, and top notch sound of this anime. If you liked Hellsing, watch this show. If you like anime, watch this show. You don't know what you're missing!

Caution: this vampire saga has bite.
In England, there is an organization assigned to protect Queen and country from satanic monsters and destroy them from the face of the Earth. They are the Hellsing Organization and they have in their possession a truly powerful weapon-the vampire known as Alucard. Armed with two high-powered hand cannons and all the abilities of a true vampire, Alucard fights rogue vampires and other demonic abominations with a ferocity that would make Hell itself tremble. But he does not fight alone. Standing by his side is his female master and leader of the Hellsing Organization Sir Integra Hellsing, her servant Walter, a butler with a deadly past, and newcomer Seras Victoria, a former police woman turned vampire by Alucard after nearly dying in the line of duty. Now she must adjust to the choice she has made while trying to retain her human soul. But in the distance, forces are moving against the Hellsing Organization as they plot to wipe out all of England and anyone who stand in their way. Beware the millennium. I got to know the world of Hellsing from the first OVA release in 2001. I liked it but I was unaware that the OVA severely deviated from Kohta Hirano's original manga after the Valentine gang chapter; mostly due to the manga still being written during that time. It wasn't until Dark Horse Comics released the manga to the US in all of its blood-soaked glory. Seeing Hirano's true vision for the first time was amazing. The world of Hellsing is not just a violent world of good vs evil as it has its quirky sense of humor (with some Japanese tropes tossed in). In 2006, production company Geneon alongside animation studios Satelight and Madhouse came together to create Hellsing Ultimate; a true adaptation of the manga with the original voice actors, both Japanese and English, back in the roles they made famous. Sadly, there was a major setback when Geneon closed its doors and left the project in limbo. Only 4 episodes were completed and sent to the US. But in 2012, Funimation stepped in and got the project back on track by resuming the production of the anime series along with re-releasing the first 4 episodes on a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack. The set is packaged with 4 DVDs and 2 Blu-ray discs. The quality of the video is superb as is the sound. It also comes with the original Japanese voice actors record w/English subtitles and the American dubbed version. What makes Hellsing Ultimate shine is the return of the voice actors from both sides of the pond. It is great to hear Crispin Freeman (Alucard), K.T. Gray (Seras), Victoria Hardwood (Integra), Ralph Lister (Walter), Steven Brand (Father Alexander Anderson), Patrick Seitz (Luke Valentine), and Josh Phillips(Jan Valentine) reprising their original roles alongside the new cast of characters. Each episode comes with commentary tracks and the original special features from the Geneon releases are included. At the time of this review, I purchased the two combo packs, volumes 1-4 and volumes 5-8, for under $50. This is the cheapest I have seen this series go for. If you are an anime fan, a horror fan, or a vampire fan who's gotten weary of a certain pre-teen vampire saga, this is one series you need to pick up. Be warned, it is filled with graphic violence, sexual content, gore, and adult language. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Great BUY!
I Did not no nothing about this anime until i seen it on youtube.com, Parody "TeamFourStar's channel". So i got the Hellsing Ultimate: Volumes 1-4 Collection. This anime is so great iam going to buy the rest of the Collection. If you don't no anything about Hellsing then go to Funimation.com and check out, watch the 1st & 2nd episode's, ill blow your mind. I Choose this rating 4 stars. Watch it on blu-ray or on DvD. 3 DVDs and 2 Blu-rays in the case. The story is great and the voice actors are awesome & some part's are funny. I would recommend this product to any anime fan out there. The item In good shape. The DvD's and case is in great shape. Only thing i dislike it that i try pulling the price tag off on the case and it rip some of the image right off. It look like one of the bestbuy store stickers on it. Am not to happy about so if you have a stupid price tag on it, leave it alone.

All I can say, is I am quite a fan of the Hellsing Series. When I heard about this product coming out. It was one of those "shut up and take my money" scenarios, and I was quite impressed with my purchase. For starters I didn't realize that this is a combo pack I thought it was only regular Blu-Ray, which is an added bonus. The extra 200 minutes it comes with is worth spending the extra. To see the uncut footage and trailers was even better. When my product arrived it was snowing up here in Northern Canada, so I thought this was going to be one of these scenarios, where I'm going to have water damage to no ends. I was wrong. When I awoke, I checked my mail and the package was in my mailbox and the lid was partially closed but it was placed so that it wouldn't receive damage from snow, water or the rain that was coming down so that was even better. Thank you, postal service! Upon opening my Amazon package, everything was tightly sealed and in mint condition. No water damage, nor any visual appearances. After opening and smelling the new movie / game smell. I first popped it into my laptop that has a Blue Ray player and it worked like a charm. After marathoning the Blue Ray on my laptop, I decided to switch on my PS3 and use both the DVD and Blue Ray's and yes I did notice a difference and it still ran like a charm with no hiccups. Vise-Versa I did the same thing with my laptop and no hiccups. My only grief or negative comment is being far up North in Canada for the amount I spent to get it up here. Meaning I didn't have to go around town only for local stores to tell me that they don't sell or carry it. The shipping can be tad expensive if you decide you can't wait and pay the extra, but for something like this I'm willing to. Secondly I also noticed some Amazon products do come Cash On Demand scenarios, same with Ebay or practically anything purchased online being shipped from the states. Not everyone, but it would be nice to know the charge when someone is dropping it at the door leaving a tag saying to come pick up. Not going to the local post office and them saying basically we need X amount before we can give you you're product and this is more for the people that can't pay this Cash On Demand charge. As to why they never leave the charge there I will never know.... So in conclusion I was mind blown in the quality of work and the remastered edition. Just like Johnny Cash, covering "Hurt" which was made by Nine Inch Nails. My mind was blown. Another extra product from Amazon and I will be still continuing business with them despite that shipping can be tad expensive. Take care and happy marathoning anime! Christopher Pord.

This is going to be a review of the case and extra content because I assume that, if you are thinking about buying this show, you've already seen it and have decided you liked it enough to purchase the physical copy. The case is nothing special. Holds the discs and has nice artwork, can't ask for much else. All 3 parts of the series (E.G. Part 1-4, 5-8 and 9-10) comes with amazing extras including Commentaries on all ten episodes from the English cast as well as interviews from the Cast. The price may put people off but they are giving you a lot for your trouble. With almost four hours of anime per part as well a massive amount of extra features this is a must buy if you love the show.
