Adkins Western Style Barbecue BBQ Seasoning 16 OZ All Natural

I learned about this seasoning from a guy in Texas that makes the best backyard bbq. Like the kind of bbq that your stomach mails you a thank you note for eating. It goes well on chicken, beef, pork and other foods. Good balance of spices and salt.

I’ve used this for years and it’s the best. It makes the best ribs and brisket!!

We have used it a lot. And old butcher put me on Adkins Western over 30 years ago. I have won a competition with it and we have used it on as many 130 briskets cooked at one time for church fundraisers. It has a good combination of sweetness and salty. Don’t bother mixing your own if you can buy this. Good value, too, when bought in 25 pound bag. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I've been using Adkin's for a few years now and have found it to work well with beef, pork, and chicken. I normally personalize it with various additional spices, but it makes a great base or when used straight. I can't prove it, by Amazon Fresh has a store brand pork rub that I'd swear was Adkins, down to the taste and make of the seasoning.

This is a great seasoning, or rub, for you choice of beef, pork, chicken, or whatever. This seasoning makes it easy for you to prepare and flavor your meats. Generously apply to your meat and you can either let it marinate or go straight to the grill, oven, or pan. Tasting out of the bag the seasoning may seem a little sweet but most of that will cook off in the process. After you first use this you will be able to decide if you need less, or most likely, a little more. But you can season to your own liking. For the price, this is a fairly large bag of seasoning and last a good while. Use it all by itself or spice it up and add a few of your other favorite ingredients. If you are new at preparing BBQ, I highly recommend this seasoning. It is a great base and works by itself so you can't go wrong.

As mentioned above, the Adkins seasoning has a salty kick to it. You can see in my photos that the dillo dust is noticeably lighter in color. I added 2 tablespoons of white sugar at a time eventually ending up at 3/4 of a cup added to the Adkins seasoning (dillo dust on left, Adkins with 3/4 cup on bottom, and Adkins with 1/2 cup on right) before the flavor was hardly any different between the Adkins and the dillo dust. My phone didn't show the color difference between them the greatest. Honestly I could have probably added another 2-4 tablespoons of sugar to make it spot on but at 3/4 of a cup the flavor was close enough
