Quality Leather
As others have mentioned, the strap is initially a bit on the stiff side, but it does soften up with use, and a light application of carnauba wax (or similar) on the strap buttons can help when installing the strap for the first time. It will also help eliminate the creaking sound the strap might make the first day or two as it breaks in. I'd consider the first few days of use to be similar to breaking in a quality baseball glove -- slightly stiff to use up front, but well worth the effort in the long run.I think the strap is probably ~10 oz leather, well made, with a very nice look that will only get better over time. The quality and stiffness of the leather will ensure that the strap will stay put on the strap buttons, and it ought to last for decades. If you are putting the strap on and taking it off constantly in order to put your guitar in a tight-fitting case, you might be in for a workout for the first couple weeks as the strap breaks in, but it doe become exponentially easier each time you use it.For me, the width of the strap is perfect. I'm not a fan of overly wide guitar straps, and this one is wide enough to spread out the weight and reduce the strain on your shoulder without being cumbersome or looking out of place. For me, it is comfortable to use for hours on end, and the width is just small enough to allow it to fit in the case pocket where a wider strap will not.Lastly, I think the price is fairly good given the quality of the item.

Beautiful strap, but needs some breaking in
This is a beautiful guitar strap, but it is incredibly stiff and uncomfortable until you take some steps to break it in. Once you do that this is a great strap. If it were a little softer right out of the package I would have given it 5 stars. I searched the Internet and came across a video for how to break in leather saddle straps for horses. That was very helpful. I broke mine in by running the unfinished side around the leg of a workbench and using a sawing action to break down some of the leather fibers and that did the trick for me. I didn't try leather oil or wax, but that would probably make it even softer.

Great strap!
The strap is well made. Seems a bit dry, so Mink oil helps.
