I don’t typically use engine additives, but the noise coming from my engine on startup was get very concerning. I own a ’09 Hyundai Accent 1.6L, and if you own one or know someone that does, you probably know of the lifter noise all too well. It’s so prevalent; Hyundai has the issue noted in the manual. It says it’s normal to have lifter noise on startup, it’s only an issue if the noise last more than 15 mins. In my case, lifter noise only lasts about 5 mins after startup. I will not drive until the ticking noise stops of fear of damaging some engine component. Even though Hyundai says it’s normal. The metal-on-metal tapping sound is cringe worthy. Waiting for the tapping sound to stop has been my routine for the past 8 years. I drive 100+ miles a day, majority is highway miles. I have well over 200k+ miles on it right now. I change my oil religiously every 2 months. The car has always had lifter noise since the day I bought it brand new in 2009. However, it is now louder and duration is longer. So one day last week I fell into the Amazon rabbit hole looking for a deal on motor oil. I’m not too picky on brand, just looking for the best deal. I always seem to find synthetic oil on sale, $10+ for 5qt after rebate. Can’t beat that deal, I always stock up and buy the max allowed. Anyway, while looking for my oil I come across Liqui Moly 2009 Anti-Friction Oil Treatment. I normally just pass these suggested products Amazon assumes I’m looking for, but for whatever reason I decided to read about this product. The reviews were very compelling but I try not to read too much into Amazon reviews, because anyone can write a review about any product on Amazon. So I decide to read more about this product on bobistheoilguy forum. To my surprise, lots of people on that forum use this product and many other Liqui Moly products. So for $8 I thought I would give it a try. It has a thick consistency with a metallic color, like graphite suspended in oil, not something I really wanted to add to my oil. But I did my oil change and added 150ml per the instructions. I started the car to check for leaks, car made the typical ticking sound on startup, didn’t think nothing of it since I’m used to hearing it. The next day leaving for work, started my car and heard the ticking as usual. It wasn’t until I started my car when I left work is when I got really concerned. I started my car and I noticed right away I could BARLEY hear the engine running. Absolutely zero ticking noise, I literally had to look at my tach to make sure the car was running at the normal idle speed. Not going to lie, I was kinda scared. I’m so conditioned to hear noise from my engine on startup I thought something was wrong with it when I started it up. I actually waited a few minutes before driving off, because that’s what I’ve done for years. The car didn’t drive any different, I didn’t feel any “performance” gains or gain extra miles per gallon. What I did notice, the lifter noise is completely gone. Nothing, nada, zero lifter noise. And the running engine is very notable quieter. It’s been 400 miles since using this product; I’m so amazed how well this product has worked in my situation. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait for the engine noise to go away before driving. I’m still not use to how quite this engine is when running. It doesn’t seem normal to me. Very pleased with the results from this product. I was unaware Liqui Moly has a specific product for lifters, Liqui Moly 20004 Hydraulic Lifter Additive. I’m going to try that next oil change. I don’t normally write reviews, especially ones this long, but I felt this product deserved one. It may not be for everyone, but if you experience lifter noise, give it a try. I’m sure glad I did.

It's good to use every other oil change, has helped with mpg, noise, and seemingly oil endurance. Between my first use and most recent oil change, the oil was in much better shape and colour after using this. Worth it. Totally worth it

Los productos liqui moly nunca me decepcionan, uso este, el limpiador de inyectores y el de lavado internos en cada servidor y mi motos suena y se siente suavecito y ligero como nuevo de paquete, ya es un auto con 10 años y nunca a presentado falla. Si se siente que reduce la fricción y protege el motor, tal vez parezca caro usar esos productos pero se amortiza el costo al mantener un motor en excelentes condiciones

Ha llegado super rapido. Excelente producto LiquiMOly. Lo utlizamos en el NISSAN Sentra 2004 XE motor 1.8. QG18, lleva sus 379.577 kms. y aun continua trabajando el auto al 100%, va mas suave mejor a relanti, menos ruido. Debo reconocer que el Auto lleva su aceite SAE 15W40. El aditivo lo llevamos usando 2 años. y el auto parece nuevo: no hace ruidos. el motor NO tiene fugas ni botes. El motor lleva 3 lts de aceite (indicaciones del Manual NISSAN).; por lo que solo aplicamos la mitad del aditivio LiquiMoly. unos 150 ML.. la otra mitad la utilizamos para el sgte cambio de aceite. El aceite utilizado es SEMISINTETICO SAE 15W40. y un filtro de aceite BOSCH, cambios cada 7 mil kms. No soi un amante a los aditivos; pero es el unico que utilizo. El motor funciona con más suavidad y regularidad, se reduce el ligero consumo de aceite y combustible. Hace que el motor marche de forma más estable y disminuye las averías, han sido 16 años con el motor XE 1.8QG, el motor nunca se ha bajado. Sigue trabajando perfecto. Cambios de Aceites y Servicios en Tiempo y Forma. Se recomienda LiquiMoly Anti-friccion.

My car is known for having what they cai typewriter tick from factory on new car, if you add a bottle of this every other oil change it gets rid of that tick 100% some people add it every change it depends how noisy it gets but this stuff definitely works
