First of all, this isn't a card stock sleeved CD: the CD jacket is a lovely booklet with excellent cover artwork. The booklet itself has various, high-quality pictures of each member of the band amidst pages with the names of the songs set among vivid pictures of astronomical themes. (No spoiler pictures! If you want to see the inside, buy the CD!) Read the whole booklet carefully to find some humor and even some concepts to ponder.Now to review what you are actually interested in: the music. Whether you have been an Apocalyptica fan since their first album, just discovered them through this album, or, like me, you have discovered them, wandered off to different genres, then keep rediscovering them, you won't be disappointed by this album. From the first chords of "Ashes of the Modern World" to the fading sounds of "Beyond the Stars," this instrumental album will take you on a journey from destruction to a fresh perspective. The dissonance in the first few songs lends to chaos and mayhem and is definitely a bold artistic move from a band that isn't afraid to stretch their creativity and their talents. The excitement that is caused in the first few tracks gradually calms down as the rhythm and tone become calmer and more peaceful in the tracks later in the album.I really enjoyed listening to this album from beginning to end because it allowed my mind to wander and my own imagination to create vivid images as the music progressed. I will enjoy listening to this album as I write, as I do chores, or as I sit down and ponder the future. Thus far, my favorite track on this album is "Catharsis."Enjoy!

Sorry, I forget that new CD recordings will be listening in a new equipment. My stereo is an old one from 1994 and still works. Cello sounds hypnotize me.I KNOW APOCALYPTICA AND I HAVE ALL CD's FROM THIS GROUP.

I love my CD

This is a solid release from Apocalyptica. It has a very "cinematic" feel to it throughout, which makes is a great record for driving, or as a soundtrack to your favorite game once you had enough of the one the game came with. That is also what is preventing it from being a stellar album, because it doesn't have enough highly memorable moments even after a number of listens.Quality of music is consistent throughout the album and production is excellent.

I liked their full band rock albums with guest singers, but the rock instrumentals is what i really love about this band. Very listen-able in the background. I love the lack of vocals to focus at work with. But I still enjoy it on a good system played loud to just appreciate all that is happening.

This is an outstanding instrumental album and ranks up there with some of their previous best work. I've been following Apocalyptica since the 1990s and appreciate the breadth and depth of their repertoire but it's nice to have them putting out an album that's a blend of metal and classical with the needle a bit more toward the classical side. Don't worry though -- they didn't fire their drummer just yet :-)

Of course this album is amazing. What else would you expect from Apocalyptica? A gorgeous instrumental album, worth having. I buy CDs for my car because I'm too lazy to adopt newer technology. The plug ins in my car are in an inconvenient place, and life is too short to fuss with that nonsense.

I missed hearing new Apocalyptica’s music with no lyrics.Every song is very evocative, different, multi instrumental.It sounds nothing like they have ever composed before.My very favorite track is the last one: Beyond the Stars.This album feeds my imagination in so many levels.I wonder what their influences are for this album!

They're one of a kind if you like heavy but got tired of all the distorted guitar sound.

Los únicos detalles que le encuentro a esta primera edición en color negro es que tiene un ligerísimo ruido superficial que se nota cuando no hay música (entre canciones o al inicio/final de los discos), posiblemente por no ser vinil virgen y que el masterizado no deja de notarse que proviene de medios digitales, lo cual tampoco es tan notorio, pero sería agradable algún tipo de masterizado que ayudara a que la música sonara lo mejor posible para el medio del vinil que me parece quedaron ligeramente cortos, no esta mal, pero al ser una edición de 2 discos para "tan pocas canciones" que el sonido fuera prácticamente excepcional, que es básicamente lo que le critico.Me da la impresión de que fué impreso por GZ media porque en los runouts tiene unos números grabados como con máquina, no los otros que son estilo manuales cuando un ingeniero de audio especial o específico se encarga del proyecto y le pone sus iniciales y todo, entonces si lo hubieran impreso y masterizado en un mejor lugar creo que podría ser la edición perfecta.Fuera de estos detalles me parece muy agradable la edición con una funda tríptico, con un librillo de arte del album con arte digital relacionado a la temática del mismo y fundas de cartoncillo. Adicionalmente a esto viene descarga digital incluida. El lado 2 del segundo disco también tiene el logo de la banda grabado de manera un poco tenue, no tan grueso ni tan profundo pero esta adecuado. En términos generales, si esta a buen precio, la recomiendo, diría que valdría un costo más elevado si se cumpliera lo que mencionaba del masterizado y el prensado.

Me gustó muchísimo este disco. Ya tenia ganas de escuchar algo asi de apocalyptica. A mi parecer regresaron a sus raíces pero mejorados en composición y producción, ya me estaban cansando un poco los discos de colaboraciones 😅La temática de este disco es buenísima, y su producción también. Contiene dos vinilos, un cuadernillo de arte con cada pieza representada (super bonito), y la ya clásica descarga digital.No quise poner 4 estrellas porque el disco me gusto bastante, pero LLEGÓ HORRIBLEMENTE MALTRATADO! De la parte posterior tiene una cortada (fotos), así que, la compra estuvo bien, pero mucho que desear del envío.
