America Adatto Dv52Si Adatto Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Black)

I've been buying BIC products since the mid 90's, and I've always found them to be high on the 'bang for the buck' meter. I've owned JBL, Klipsch, and a few others in the past, but I keep going back to BIC. These speakers are really quite nice. First of all, although the product listing doesn't specify it too well, these are sold in pairs. Each speaker weighs a little less than 6 pounds, which is about average for their size. They come with the cloth grilles already installed, but there are metal screens for those who want to use these speakers outdoors. I bought 2 pairs, for use as the front and rear channels in a 5.1 setup. Although they have a pretty wide range, I still set my receiver to 'small' for speaker size, but I was able to set the crossover at 80Hz, which is pretty good for satellite sized speakers, I think. The Klipsch satellites I was using before I bought these were set at 150, and that was probably still a bit of wishful thinking. I was fairly pleased with the sound they produced, it was very full and warm. With the receiver's volume at its loudest 'comfortable' listening level, there was no sign of distortion of any kind. They just did a great job, and really added a lot to our home theater experience. Before buying these, I did a LOT of research, went to my local A/V store and auditioned several competing brands (Klipsch, Energy, Polk), and couldn't find a compelling reason to spend more money on another brand, when the BIC were just as good as I expected them to be. I ended up ordering the DV52CLR center channel speaker to replace my 14 year old BIC center speaker, and at some point I'll buy one of their newer subs to replace the 10 year old BIC 10" model I currently use. I wish there were more pictures of the backs of these speakers out there, because you have to really see it to appreciate it. They have an angled back that makes them absolutely perfect for cieling or corner mounting. They include drilling templates and instructions for a variety of mounting options, and since they're relatively light-weight, it doesn't take a whole lot to anchor them securely. My receiver can do 7.1, and I'm already planning to pick up another pair of these in a month or so to finish out the set. I don't hesitate to recommend them. Yes, there are better sounding small-format speakers out there, but they don't really come close in terms of price versus performance. I was prepared to pay per speaker what I ended up paying for a PAIR.

Sound fantastic

I have been extremely happy with the Bic center channel speaker I've owned for a year or so. I had been using the back surround speakers that came with my wifes Onkyo Theater in a box system. It is a 7-1 and we only use it as a 5-1 system. Well I knew that those speakers were marginal at best and I thought these would be an economical upgrade. Can't believe the difference in sound quality. Even though the back two surround sound speakers don't put out a lot of sound with music cd's and from the music channels on direct tv, the upgrade in sound quality is very noticable. the fact that they could be used outside was of no importance to me, but if someone was inclined to do that I feel these would be very adequate or better. I did't give them five stars because there are surely better speakers out there, but not worth the cost over these.

Ordered two pairs of these in black TWELVE YEARS AGO and hung them on my patio's brick wall under the house roof overhang and paired them with a Polk outdoor subwoofer via a Russound speaker distribution unit. For the price I expected to get no more than 5-6 years use. These are exposed to 4-seasons of mid-Atlantic weather and still sound great for entertaining on the patio. Obviously no match for my KEF stereo critical listening indoor set-up, but exceeded all my expectations at this price point.

i have a pair of bic 6s from yrs ago and love them. I like them because they have a good sound at that price. These are alot smaller sound good for the money.

These are the most hollow soundind speakers I ever heard. They were shipped back the same day I received them and tried this pair out on my Onkyo receiver.

I recently purchased an entire line up of Bic America speakers for my 5.1 home theater. (4) Bic Formula FH-6T for Front & Rear L/R. (1) Bic Formula FH6-LCR for center. (1) Bic PL-200 subwoofer. The entire theater sounds pretty good. I am happy with it so I started looking into Bic's other speakers. The DV line has pretty good reviews so when I needed a pair of speakers for my computer I thought these would be great. I have an Asus Xonar D2 sound card outputting crystal clear audio to a Lepai LP-2020A+ tripath amp. I also tried these connected to a Yamaha R-S300 receiver. These did not sound clear. There were barely a notch up on the satellite speakers that came in my Logitech Z-5500 set. I guess I just expected better. I did not test these outdoors so maybe there are good for that purpose. Not very good indoors. I returned them.

I bought these for my surround sound system that consists of all B.I.C. brand speakers. They do a really nice job as my surround speakers. I personally would not use these in a two channel setup, but in a surround system with the crossover set accordingly they actually do a nice job. They replaced some no name rummage sale speakers that I was using as my surrounds until I could find something that would fill the bill. They are extremely easy to mount on the wall and the included template makes it foolproof. The only thing add is that you cannot flip the decal when using the wall mounts. Not really a big deal, but people notice it. The logo is so small, that you really have to be looking for something to complain about. Actually I have been extremely happy with all of my B.I.C. speakers.

Simplemente todo lo que dicen de ellas es real, adelante si estas pensando en comprarlas para complementar tu set, o incluso para usar autonomamente, son unas grandes bocinas que no te fallarán y que te sorprenderán en su comportamiento en graves, debido a su tamaño tal vez no lo podrás creer. Muy contento con mi compra y más al precio que adquirí.

Only received 1 cloth grille. One speaker had no bass and very quiet treble. The other speaker sounded fine. The box was a little battered so maybe it was a faulty item that had been sold onto me. Beware... returned for full refund.
