Amazing Product!
Amazing product!I started with the electric shock type. Thought I had 2rats.1 went in but backed out before getting strong enough shock to kill. After that they will not go near it. Moved on to old fashion rat traps but now I am seeing baby rats. These things breed like nothing else.I could only put traps up high because of my dogs.So baby rats aren't climbing yet. Those baby rats had more baby rats.Don't believe you can saturate cotton balls with peppermint oil. You will just be providing them with a comfy bed in which to raise baby rats. These work and the poison in the box so no chance of dogs accidently ingesting. This does not come with bait,so I also bought Victor Rat Bait Station because it came with 6 additional bait. The rats loved this bait. Before the rats would hide during day but first day I put boxes down I could hear at least 1rat entering the box to eat many times til about 11 AM. I believe they feel safe in the box while eating. Result I found a dead rat everyday. Careful if you have pets. The rats will die in plain sight on your floors.End of story: I set these out Jun 26th and I do not have rats anymore. I can not say enough great things abt this product.I did see complaints abt durability ,but it has held up well enough so far.

Probably the best bait traps on the market
I have four different mouse, not rat, traps due to living in the country. Mice are serious issue in the Fall and we try and wipe them out before Winter sets in. The mice learned that the bait we used the previous three years was poison and stopped eating it, so they infested our home. We switched to traps and a new bait this year. They started breaking the bait traps open. These, medium sized bait stations, are large, but simple to use and very well constructed. The key to open them, its an actual key, is designed to clip onto the bottom of the box and the bait has hangs on a wire inside the trap as all bait has a hole through the middle. Very, very well engineered and well worth the purchase. Highly recommend.

Hopefully does the trick
Basic bait traps for mice. Slightly bigger than the ones that sometimes come included with the bait, but much smaller than commercial ones. The key works perfectly fine, you just have to be pushing up while turning. I will see if these outdoor traps are actually water proof because I am a bit skeptical with the key hole on top and general design. Will update. The bait that I use doesn’t fit on the included metal rods but without the rods they do fit sideways. I was surprised by this because I’ve purchased several kinds and they have always been the same rectangular size. Gave 4/5 due to bait issue and possible weather proof ability. Price is same or slightly better than others of similar design.

Good Purchase
These work well. I have had them down for about 6 months now. The box comes with a key to unlock them so that rodents and pests can not knock it open. They are a bit light so you made need to put something on top of them to prevent them from moving. They are easy to use and install. The bait fits inside of them with no problems.

Buy the other version
The bait box is sturdy and large enough for rats. The only problem is the steel keys are very difficult to unlock the box. A lot cussing and skinned knuckles, taking up to 5 minutes. You must use both keys at once and use your third hand to get the latches to release.

This product has fully eliminated my mouse problems almost overnight
This item has eliminated my mouse problems completely. I wish I could say it's from a few months but it has been getting worse over the past years. I was desperate to resolve this problem. I also have pets and did not want to risk any possibilities of them getting sick. This pack of 4 with locking keys and double bait stations has in less than 2 weeks worked 100%. I have not seen 1 mouse in the past few days. My husband and I are so appreciative for your product. In this photo from several weeks ago is my almost new $2000.00 Frigidaire Oven and stovetop. Mice had moved in and destroyed the whole top. We have no idea how they were able to carry all this dog food into our insulation. Thank you again, no more worries.

Doesn't catch the mice.
Misleading. Doesn't actually catch the mice. The bait YOU put inside lures them, but they eat it and then can get out of the box, free to roam the area. The attractant (that does not come with it) but is rather an additional cost, is what kills them, the box is basically useless. You end up finding dead mice in random places. I had thought it lured them in and then trapped them. As it is, you still have to hunt down the mice so that they don't decay. The mice get out and then are still free to wander and die later. Where they rot depends on how far they get after eating the poison. NOT A GOOD idea when you have other animals and children that can come in to contact with the dead mice laying in random areas.

Simple, secure, and effective tool
Simple, secure, and effective in dispatching poison bait to the tree rats that used to live on my property. The 2 locking mechanisms keep the box locked at all times and require you to have both keys to open and expose the poison inside. I have a dog and was very hesitant to use these as I was afraid she might get 'curious' and start poking her nose where it didn't belong....to give me some peace of mind, I used very large HVAC duct Zip ties to go around each box to keep them from opening up in anyway. Once I opened the boxes a few times to check the bait level over the first 2 weeks, I was confident that the locks on the boxes were sufficient and stopped using the zip ties altogether. That being said, I still suggest that you keep the boxes out of the reach of your pets and/or screw the boxes down securely so your pets cannot move the boxes around which could expose them to small crumbs of bait left inside which could fall out of the entry holes if allowed to be tumbled around. **Make sure you wear gloves when handling the poison bait and discard the gloves and wash your hands thoroughly after you are done to avoid any unintended exposure.
