Is the product cruelty free (not tested on animals)?

I have re-read the label and cannot find a statement regarding animal testing. However, the product is beeswax. It’s safe for humans and animals. I can’t speak highly enough for this product. I use it daily, I recommend it to friends, I trust it because I know it works. One point the company doesn’t mention is that, at least for me, it speeds healing.

Does this product ever expire?

I don't think it would. It's made with beeswax, which is a natural preservative and natural anti-bacterial. I usually buy a big jar, then fill small containers to go in my purse, keep at my desk at work, etc. A large jar usually lasts me 3-4 years. I've been using this product for about 15 years and I highly recommend it.

will this protect a burn, so that i can go swimming?

If you can handle rubbing it in, it will protect the burn very well. But it is a very thick product, so there is some pressure necessary to run it in.
