Open it the right way- instructions are on top if you do it the right way. It's a ton of pieces but the instructions are clear and generally easy to follow. I completely assembled it by myself but then couldn't get the top to fully lay down to screw the cam locks in so I made my husband sit on top. I still had to muscle it up from the floor to get them in. One reviewer mentioned assembling it upside down on a table. That worked great. I laid out all the pieces on my kitchen counters and assembled it on top of my dining room table. If you have arthritis or any kind of hand issues TAKE YOUR TIME. It's 1,000 screws you have to put in. Four hours is reasonable to completely assemble it, but it's over all painless. I assembled this and a chair I bought to go with it in the same day. I haven't yet figured out the drawer stops with the wooden dowels but I don't really think that's a deal breaker. For the cost this is a beautiful piece of furniture. I did not expect it to be so heavy. I could barely lift the table top by myself. It's a much sturdier piece of furniture than I expected- especially at this price point. I couldn't be more pleased with this.

I got my desk delivered yesterday, opened the box and prepared to assemble. All of the parts looked nice, but found two issues. One was a small crack at one corner of the top surface board. The other issue is a missing hole at the edge of one of the four parts marked "13". This part should be the side board of the drawer I believe. The missing hole would prevent this part to be properly installed. I tried to get support by clicking "get product support" link, which showed "currently unavailable". So I don't know how to get these problems fixed.

I bought 2 of these to be used as the pedestals for a long, custom desk I am having built. They came in flat boxes and each piece had to be assembled. An experienced house builder/carpenter assembled them both in about 5 hours using hand screw drivers he had, and Allen wrenches provided with the units. He preferred not to use an electric screw driver, but that would have made the process much faster, as there are MANY 3/4" screws. All the parts were present and there were extra dowels and screws provided. The finish is very nice, high gloss, no scratches or imperfections, and everything fit well. They are very sturdy and look very nice, with nicely finished wood. They look like high quality furniture with heavy wooden construction EXCEPT for the bottom of the drawers, which were very thin pressed wood. The drawer sliders were real wood and pretty sturdy. They are advertised as file cabinets, but I would not put more than 5 pounds of weight in each drawer due to the thin bottoms. However, they make good desk drawers, and would also make nice night stands or even end tables. I could even see storing clothing in them. I chose to leave off the castors, but they seemed very sturdy (metal) if you want them. Overall I am very happy with them. Due to the difficulty of assembly, as there are many parts, and the thin drawer bottoms, I gave it 4 stars. If these were improved I would give them 5 stars.

Ordered this desk for my home office. It arrived as scheduled and took two delivery drivers to get it onto my porch. It was too heavy for me to carry the box up to my 2nd floor office, so I unpacked it and carried the pieces up a few at a time. The instructions were easy to follow and I built it without any help. The desk is very cute and sturdy. LOVE IT!!

This desk is perfect in my coastal guest room. I just changed the knobs to nickel. It’s very sturdy and at an awesome price!!!

Some thoughts about this desk: 1. At first I was sent the wrong product and had to send it back and get the correct one. 2. When the correct one arrived all 4 corners of the top of the desk were munched in some way shape or form. It ended up being not too noticable, so we kept it and didn't go through the hassle of exchanging it. 3. Despite all the hassle to get the correct item and the cosmetic shipping damage, it is a very lovely desk and elevates my library/office room beautifully. It holds a surprising amount of items. Overall happy with my purchase.

The quality of the desk is not worth the money! First of all the desk top corner was damaged from not having proper packing protection on the corners. We decided to keep it and just decide to touch it up because repacking everything and returning would be more of a pain . 2 of the legs are cracked and one fell off when we set the desk up. If the product was inexpensive I would understand the quality.
