My snail went into hibernation for over a month and I needed a bigger heat mat to get the temp right. After one day of attaching this mat he’s awake and happy. I used to have a 7w mat and it just wasn’t getting hot enough, I have a 54l tank which is approx 2ftx1ft and this is the perfect size and watt. I have it attached to a thermostat and hopefully now my snail will nice and warm and happy. I added the mat to the side of the tank and not underneath as i know my old mats just didn’t get through the substrate enough.

Used to grow mushrooms. A bit hot so make allowances for that.

Not bad. It’s quite big but not huge and the heat isn’t evenly distributed all over the bad.

The heat mat does exactly as expected...it heats the terrarium! We have a 43cm square tank and this fits on half of it perfectly allowing a hot and a cool side. The mat comes with a very strong sticky back so that it can be suck to the underside of the glass and stay in place perfectly. I have teamed it up with a thermostat so that it only comes on when needed, otherwise it is on constantly. Gives out a lot of heat, can’t fault it.

Bought this as one of my tortoise was not well. Turned out after reading instructions cannot be used with wood. Was no good to me.

This might be ok for some animals if they just need a little tiny bit of warm .. but in our 10 degree house in winter when the heating is off it only made a tiny 12" tank go up to 15 degrees. 5 degrees is useless for most reptiles.. lets be honest. My frog needed to be 29 degrees... it wasn't even close, went to local pet shop and got one for the same price, same size but much higher wattage now it gets to 30 degrees, don't waste you're time.
