Added this under our Christmas tree, and it’s such an amazing addition. Bigger than I thought it would be but I’m pleased about that. Sound effects are great. Will be having so much fun with this in the coming years.

The media could not be loaded. Love the train, came in a secure packaging. Even the shipping fee is expensive in Thailand, it is worth buying it. Easy to assemble and works fine, the train do not derail even in its fastest mode. All in all, great product.

Really happy with the polar express Lionel train. I have bought it for my children and to go around my Christmas tree. The kids loved it and it was just what I was looking for to match my Christmas decoration - a train that isn’t too over top and has a classic look.It’s wonderful... and has very quick delivery.It is rather expensive for what it is... but it’s the look I wanted to go for so I stumped up. I’m sure we will enjoy this train at Christmas for many many years to come.

I have just set this up ahead of Christmas to make sure all working ok and it looks amazing. Good quality and sturdy. Small light at the front and makes good train noises.I can't wait for my Polar Express fans to see it on Christmas day.For the price a couple of figurines would have been nice but guess they want you to buy those separately.You'll need 6 size C batteries and 3 size AAA.

Expensive, but I think it's the only legit Polar Express train set available, and the kids love Polar Express; what can you do?The track you get with the train makes a small oval shape, and is pretty easy to fit together. Slightly easier than Lego, but harder than Trackmaster stuff.The bell that comes with the train is really bad, we've had cat toys which resembled a bell better than this one, which is a real shame. It just kind of rattles around.The train itself is pretty well made, stays on the track, and can go forwards and backwards; as well as playing sound clips from the film, a nice chug chug sound, and steaming sound when it's stationary.Overall, giving it four stars. It's really expensive and the bell is awful, but the kids really love it

I have always wanted a train set for under my Christmas tree and decided to treat my self to this set. It is well made and easy to put together. The are a variety of speeds, forward/reverse and sound effects. It fitted perfectly around my tree and I was so pleased with it as were my two children.

Does not work, train derails and is rubbish quality for the price.

I have grand children , and put the Lionel polar express train set , around the Xmas tree.they love it.

I am editing my review because of how quickly the batteries run out. This is a good train at an unbeatable price. Although the price is low, the quality is impressive. I have owned two of these trains and I love them both. It's only been a few years, so I can't attest to how it will hold up in 10 years +, but I have to say I'm pretty confident it will last a long time. You can just tell it's a good quality set when you pick up the cars and feel their weight. The controls are very simple and they're perfect for either a kid or an adult. I know it's mostly for kids, but I'm an adult and I just love it. I couldn't really afford to invest $400+ for my first train, and this one looks wonderful around the tree. It's awesome to have the remote which lets you control the speed, direction and play sound effects. If you're looking for a nice gift which can be used every Christmas for years to come I highly recommend this train. Also just so you know before purchasing: this is the cheaper model, so you won't be able to add additional cars like in the more expensive models of the Polar Express, but you can extend the track as long as you want, just make sure you buy the Ready to Play track. I rated volume control 1 stars, because there is no volume control, but it's a train and I wasn't really expecting that anyway. Ideally there would be a volume control, but it's ok as trains are supposed to make noise. Unfortunately the batteries don't seem to last that long, so just be prepared that you'll need to have a massive amount of batteries if you want to run it during the whole holiday season.Update: I think I've figured out that what happens: I think the batteries inside the controller weaken because I can't use the sound FX right now, but it still controls the train. When I turn the train on it doesn't have the train sounds either, but it still runs. I'm certain this will be fixed replacing the batteries, but I'm mentioning this because it is kind of a cool unintentional feature, because now I have the train still running and it isn't as noisy. So I think the batteries on the train last a while, but you just may need to replace the controller ones. I definitely recommend the train!

Devo dire che le poche recensioni su questo prodotto non chiarivano molti dei miei dubbi, chi lo aveva acquistato prima di me non ne parlava in modo corposo né tantomeno aveva allegato foto o video interessanti. Nonostante tutto, la voglia di averlo in casa era molta più della “paura” di restare deluso…ed infatti ho avuto ragione del mio acquisto!Ed ecco perché la mia recensione sarà corposa e dettagliata!Con mia grande sorpresa la spedizione non era né italiana né europea, ma totalmente Americana, infatti il Polar Express è arrivato dalla Florida percorrendo con FedEx oltre 8800Km in soli 3 giorni dalla spedizione ma soprattutto intonso…davvero fenomenale!L’unboxing è stato entusiasmante, riportandomi alla mente dolci ricordi dei Natali della mia infanzia! Il modellino è veramente ben fatto, non ci sono istruzioni, ma il montaggio (compresa la caccia al tesoro su dove inserire le batterie😜) è facile ed intuitivo, chiude il set il suo telecomando senza fili. Il treno è composto da 4 pezzi, una locomotiva, un tender e due carrozze di cui una di coda con piattaforma, chiudono il set completo 24 curve ed 8 rettilinei sufficienti a creare un ovale da 188cm x 127cm oppure un quadrato da 150cm x 150cm.La locomotiva per la trazione necessita di 6 mezze torce (Pile tipo C), mentre il telecomando di 2 stilo (Pile AA), fortunatamente avevo già con me un set da 14 mezze torce ricaricabili, in questo modo il divertimento è continuo! Al vano batterie della locomotiva si accede svitando una vite appena sotto la cabina ed estraendo poi l'intera porta di accesso alla camera di combustione del forno. Una volta aperto, bisognerà spingere il contenitore delle batterie verso l'interno, così da azionare la molla per la sua espulsione poiché è interamente alloggiato all’interno della caldaia. Una volta alloggiate le batterie, basta ripetere a ritroso le operazioni appena descritte.I binari sono in plastica facili da unire attraverso due agganci ad incastro e sufficienti a compiere un giro intorno ad un albero con una base di 160cm di diametro (il mio è alto 240 con una base di 160cm). Una volta acceso sia il telecomando che la locomotiva l’accoppiamento (pairing via Bluetooth) è immediato, e da quel momento è possibile eseguire tutti i comandi.Sul telecomando sono presenti 3 pulsanti ed un potenziometro con scala ad incremento positivo e negativo, che in questo caso corrispondono ad una marcia avanti ed una retrocessione.Ai 3 pulsanti sono abbinati il suono della campana posta sul frontale della locomotiva ed uno per il fischio a vapore, mentre il terzo a treno fermo riproduce in inglese la frase che Tom Hanks pronuncia per l’incarrozzamento dei passeggeri (nella parte iniziale del film) “All aboard…this is The Polar Express!”, mentre a treno in movimento “i am the king of the North Pole!” che invece pronuncia il fantasma (sempre interpretato da Tom Hanks) sul tetto della carrozza di coda.Tutti i suoni compreso quello di locomotiva in attesa di marcia e di treno in movimento e corsa vengono emessi da una cassa presente solo sulla locomotiva.Rispetto alla scala “O” in cui sono presenti più carrozze e tutto ha una propria illuminazione (poiché trasmessa attraverso le rotaie elettrificate), in questo modello soltanto la locomotiva ha come illuminazione il faro anteriore, mentre la carrozza di coda non è dotata dell’illuminazione rossa del fanale che indica la coda del treno. Sulla locomotiva lato cabina (appena sopra lo sportellino del vano batterie) è presente un led bianco che si accende solo quando riceve segnali dal suo telecomando.Di per se già da solo sotto l’Albero il Polar Express (o PolEx affettuosamente chiamato da Tom Hanks “Conductor”) aggiunge un tocco Magico all’atmosfera Natalizia, ma con la Campanella della slitta di Babbo Natale (inclusa nella confezione!) tutto è più Magico!Se avete bambini in casa, credetemi…ne resteranno davvero incantati!Sono veramente Soddisfatto!
