Great book but I have to say for the same price you can purchase the ebook directly on the website and the features are so good, itโs a much better purchase. Shame u cannot have a link for the e content along with the hard copy.

An imprved Grade 2 syllabus
This is the updated Grade 2 Contemporary acoustic guitar syllabus from Rockschool. The format of the book and exam is the same as previously, but with 6 different song arrangements. The standard of the music is more uniform throughout than the previous syllabus that attracted quite a bit of criticism. However, when comparing the new Grade 2 and 3, there is little jump in difficulty between the two in my opinion. The songs are; Shallow - Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga We are never ever getting back together - Taylor Swift Let her go - Passenger Other side of the world - KT Tunstall The dock of the bay - Otis Reading Everybody hurts - REM Let her go and Everybody hurts are written as duet with an assessed and non-assessed part. The non-assessed part of Let her go is a mixed picked melody and chords; with is more fun than the assessed accompaniment arrangement. Dock of the bay is a considerably simpler arrangement than in the previous syllabus. The songs feature a range of techniques; chord strum, picked melody and arpeggios, muting etc. and will develop these stills. Whilst all are manageable, I think a couple will become a bit monotonous on repetition, and Shallow is more challenging than some pieces in the Grade 3 syllabus. All round though, more consistent and a improvement on the previous syllabus.
