Awesome product, I highly recommend for newer Duramax Diesel Owners
I bought this for my 2017 L5P Duramax, and it has been an awesome tool for my truck. There are so many great things about this, first off there are so many parameters for the L5P Duramax, I think there is 5 different egt readouts, a boost gauge, turbo vane position(helps me control the exhaust brake manually) fuel pump psi, fuel rail pressure, coolant temp(the factory gauge is a liar!) and the list goes on and on and on. It also reads codes which has helped me because I have had some emissions system problems, and onstar is not much help as far as check engine lights go. And it can also command a dpf regeneration, I love this, One time I was on a road trip and I was towing, so I had gone about 650 miles without a regen, I knew it would be coming up soon and since I was about an hour away from my destination, I thought I would just command it while I was stopped, and so it didnt start and get all hot right before I was about to shut it off, and make it inconvienent to drive around town(keep driving message). On the highway the truck heats up a lot less to do a regen and it completes it faster. So win win. I love this thing and I feel it was worth every penny, would highly recommend it to anyone who likes watching what there truck is doing, it has really taught me a lot more about my truck and I love it!!!

Well worth the money!
This is an amazing device. It is much more than I expected. I recently purchased a 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and wanted a boost gauge as well as an EGT gauge. I found out the Ram truck HAS sensors for both of those but they are not visible to an OBD2 scanner. The CTS2 allows me to see ALL the OBD2 sensor readings as well as teh Ram specific stuff. I am very impressed by the ease of installed, the slick finished feel of the device, and it just looks great. I am still learning what all it can do, but it definitely saved me money compared to buying multiple gauges, with pods and lots of install time. Install was as simple as plugging in the cable to the obd2 port, then hiding it along side the edge of the dash, putting the suction cup mount where I wanted and then plugging in the CTS2, took about ten minutes. The instructions are simple and clear, plus when I had questions about peripheral devices the Edge support people responded immediately and clearly.

Great device, but Unmentioned Compatibility Issues with Gas engines cause huge headaches.
This is a great product for monitoring your vehicle's vital signs. You can read other reviews that talk about how great it works, the features, etc, but this review is going to be more critical of the technical aspects of installing/programming. I see reviews that discuss the Insight sporadically restarting or not turning on, and when I first opened the box and installed it, this is what I experienced as well. I drive a 2006 Ford F250 with a gas motor, and while monitoring engine vitals is more common with diesels, I like to be able to keep an eye on everything while driving. I can plug in my year/make/model into the Edge website and it shows compatibility with my truck and the Insight CTS2. So I install it and as per the guide go through the initial setup process, select Ford, select transmission, etc. Nothing worked. I put in a call to Edge tech support and the first associate I spoke with could not have been less interested in helping me. "Plug it into a computer, install the software, call us back." Click. After installing the Fusion software on the only PC I could locate, I called back tech support. Second tech was much more helpful - I explained my problem, he sent some updates to my unit and did a reprogram of the Insight. At this point he instructed me to update the unit, after which the problem would be fixed. I did so, not fixed. Called Edge back again and finally the THIRD tech I spoke to gave me a definitive answer. After a few trips back and forth from the truck to the computer, he finally informs me that "Edge products aren't designed to work with Gas vehicles". This seems absurd, as their website lists countless gas vehicles as comparable. "They are not truly compatible, so you need to select 'Import not Domestic, and then Other instead of Ford for the make and model. If you select Ford it assumes it is a diesel and then will not work". After setting up my Insight this way, everything worked as it should. However, despite the tech assuring me that I will not be missing out on any specific features, I know that I am not getting the full range of capabilities. Everything I want to monitor and use the Insight for works, but there are features that show as "Not Available". The point in this review is that NOWHERE in the Edge literature does it explain this process or this lack of compatibility with gas motors. It took me THREE tech support associates and over 2 hours to get this sorted out. So be warned, the unit will work but there are different processes involved and some features may be unavailable. Had I known this, I think I would have skipped the headache and bought a Scangauge II. The touchscreen, colors, and graphics are very nice though.

Works great
Good purchase if you just want to monitor the vital temps and PSI of your diesel. I am not interested in tuning and running the tar out of my truck so this worked well. The CTS2 monitors pretty much everything on the truck. My truck(06 Dodge Diesel) does not have EGT readings but I will be purchasing the expandable EGT probe. Keep in mind this device has the capability to read all sorts of parameters however your truck does have to have the electric sensors for this to be able to read. Older trucks, Like my 96 Dodge - Only a few would work. I believe this is useful for trucks with more electronic controls, otherwise the standard gauge pods would be my choice for the mechanical trucks.

Just does not work as advertised.
I bought this to monitor the aging 2003 Duramax I use to haul my camper. It is certainly not as advertised. To start with, it won't function for more than ten minutes without crashing and freezing up. It will randomly forget my vehicle so I have to go back through the initiation process. It makes my driver information display send random service warnings and lights up random dummy panel lights. Last time it froze up, the alarm system light came on. I've never seen that before and to the best of my knowledge my truck does not have an alarm system. When I go to the diagnostics mode it either says there are no codes or there are six (dependent on whether I have had to reinitialize it recently) but it can't interpret any of them as it was advertised to do. It is supposed to have a fuel mileage function but when I try to access it all it say is "Coming Soon"? I thought these issues might be solved by updating the software so I went to the Edge website to do so. "No updates at this time". I really had high hopes but am very disappointed. It's going back.

Not that great for the ECO D RAM falls short of needs and options.
I bought this for my 2015 RamECO Diesel.. this is what I found.. it monitors all the things my new truck already shows.. with exception to boost.. which my truck doesn't show.. it will show a regen which is why I bought it.. however the unit needs to be updated as soon as you get it to get that gauge .. and does nt work on Mac.. which is what I have.. so I can't update it unless it find a PC out there.. it is not a tune.. you can force a manual regen with it.. however that is all it does... it will read any codes that come up from CEL or other things that are going on.. it will not show injector activity on my Eco D or a dodge..If you are looking for a tune "with Juice" to work on your ECO D Ram they do not have one yet for edge... so in ending it will not tune.. it will show all the funtions like temp for oil, coolant, oil psi, boost, trans temp.. and I believe you can clear a code to get out of limp mode.. the touch screen is not that great.. the product doesn't come with a very good description of what it does.. but that is not the sellers fault it is the same if you buy the product on the EDGE site which is much more expensive then here.. I can do more with my obd2 reader and an app on iphone.. again this is not the seller fault.. it is simply what you want to invest in.. it looks cool.. but for me it has to go back.. EDGE has many models of montiors and tunes.. make sure you know what you want and what you need.. the engine in the ECO Diesel in the ram is new territory it is 3.0 6cyl diesel light duty..for ram and jeep so this EDGE product is only for show on this truck it will do a passive regen on its own so the only option I like I don't need .. or can't get unless I get it upgraded..

This is an excellent monitor for any vehicle you may have
This is an excellent monitor for any vehicle you may have. I have a diesel truck and can now monitor all the functions on one device. I would buy this unit again if I had too. Highly recommended.

I ordered this unit for a 1998 GMC K2500 6 ...
I ordered this unit for a 1998 GMC K2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel with an OBD11 connector. There was different info on the internet in regards to this unit working with my particular application some reviews said it would some reviews said it wouldn't, so made my purchase very confusing. But I bought it anyway, so if your going to use this for the GMC 6.5 Turbo Diesel, here is what it will monitor RPM, HP, Engine Coolant Temp, Air intake Temp,Torque, Run Time and that was it on mine. If you want to monitor EGT, Boost, Fuel Pressure,Transmission Temperature and so on you can do it through the EAS system which will cost approximately another $500 to $700, depending on what you want to add. A tad bit pricey. Haven't used the unit on the road as my truck is parked for the winter, just plugged it in to see what parameters I would get. Only gave it three stars as edge expert technician wasn't very friendly, and when talking to me I'm sure he would have rather been somewhere else, he gave me the feeling that I was bothering him. Hope this info will help anyone thinking of using it for the same application as mine.

Works great.
Love the ability to see when my truck is going through a re gen. I just keep driving till it’s done. Husband loves it for more reasons. Sometimes it doesn’t turn on when command starting so shut off truck and start with key and it turns on.
