Question 1

I'm considering the metalic version of this knife. Does this have any plastic parts? I live in Houston, and plastic will melt if left it in the car!

The knife in this picture is not all metal -- it has a clear plastic cover over the metal body and I love it.  I'm thinking of buying another one, I love it so much.

Question 2

The picture for the red with Boy Scout logo looks like the Field Master which has a Phillips screwdriver.  Is this the Fieldmaster or Huntsman?

They Boy Scout logo version is called a Huntsman, but it is not like the other Huntsman that don't have the logo. Makes sense that BSA didn't want to endorse a product with a cork screw so they changed it to a Phillips screwdriver. The strange thing is that it then becomes exactly like the Fieldmaster but without a logo. Why they didn't call it a Fieldmaster with BSA logo is beyond me. Maybe the Huntsman existed first and then they made the BSA version and then maybe people requested this version but without the BSA logo so in hindsight they had to call it Fieldmaster. I spoke with Victorinox on the phone and they confirmed Huntsman BSA logo has Phillips and no cork screw which is different than other Huntsman....making it exactly like Fieldmaster (but with no logo). The rest is just my speculation.

Question 3

Did yours come with anything in the box besides the knife? Any paperwork etc.?

I don't recall paper work but I can tell you, this knife saved my butt several times.  1.out in air filled boat,hollow plastic oars,a mile from no where except shore plastic hollow oar bent in half not usable. Cut sapling,cut oar in half, put short piece of branch in rowed a mile back to camp.  didn'y need any papers,all blades self explained

Does it have a locking knife blade?

The Hunstman does not have a locking blade, however there are some Victorinox Swiss Army Knives that do.  They are too numerous to list here.
