A good book to begin learning Spanish
This is a good introduction to Spanish. Each chapter presents some basic terms and grammar followed by exercises using those basics. The exercises include short translations, matching questions, writing short answers, and some true or false. The exercises include some references to current celebrities, which make it more fun. A recommended choice for learning Spanish.

Nicely written
This is a bit more than basic, but useful anyway!

Basic and easy understanding.
The media could not be loaded. To be fair I’ve been studying Portuguese prior to learning Spanish so maybe it helps a bit, but this is one of the only books I’ve been so eager to do and get through with my coffee in the morning. The lessons are well laid out and easy to understand and to check your answers with the key in the back is nice. Anything that is a workbook style of learning and rewriting the questions and answers in a notebook helps reinforces it.Update: 12/10/24Well I’m happy to say I’ve completed this book finally; in between working on other projects and languages - I enjoyed the learning experience with this format. Admittedly I still hadn’t used the Audio portion, I just rewrote the questions and answers in more than two 5 subject spiral bound notebooks. Even wrote smaller and took notes in the margins; I was surprised when handwriting it took up so much volume. My next venture might be the vocabulary book in this series as it will expand and reinforced what I already learned in a similar fashion. (Also tip: read each sentence and answer out loud to yourself or your Latin speaking friends it helps a lot). Good luckIn Short:PROS: Easy bite size sections with a kind of chapter review quiz to grasp your understanding. (Previous to this I bought the (Complete All in One) book but it was too advanced, I stepped down to this and feel my next step will be with the aforementioned. They also offer the flashcards and audio on the Language lab but haven’t used it yet, maybe will update it for review at a later date.CONS: There are some section questions that ask you to judge a statement as being true or false but some include (proper nouns) actors, singers or places that I’m unfamiliar with, thus I have to guess or skip the question. There are a lot of examples and questions but I feel there needs to be more and variety.

Download the app!
Pretty comprehensive for a basic Spanish book. I did notice it is missing the names for the months, and there were a couple of other grammar mistakes. Overall, worth the price, but make sure you download the app! Being able to read Spanish doesn't help with conversation. You need to hear the flow and cadence as well as the pronunciation. Each chapter builds on the next, so take your time to learn each chapter fully before moving to the next.

Excellent Side
I am currently using Duolingo to learn Spanish. This book has started to elevate my vocabulary as well as conjugate verbs. I'm not quite past that all yet. Though Duolingo is making it so easy!
