Lakeland Milk Frother and Hot Chocolate Maker 250ml – Froths Hot Or Cold Milk

Like a lot of people I found myself drawn into the excitement and luxury of a hot chocolate machine this winter and after some deliberation, and with friends and family raving about the velvetsiser, I opted for this Lakeland hot chocolate maker due to the cheaper price and just as good online reviews. After having it for 6 months and using it several times a week (at least) I can happily say I’m not in the slightest bit disappointed. For transparency though I should point out that we’re actually in our second machine now due to the first one stopping working for what seemed like no reason after only a week. Thankfully Lakeland were AMAZING and we had a new one sent out within 12 hours of raising it with them (before we’d even sent the old one back) and we’ve had no issues what’s so ever with the second machine. Now on to the review of the machine itself. The whole thing is perhaps not as pretty as some others, but it’s completely practical with easy to use buttons and simple settings. The jug holds a good amount of milk and though it doesn’t get boiling we’ve found heating the mugs before hand really helps keep the hot chocolate at the perfect temperature when drinking it. We did find that if you add chocolate in to quickly or before the milk is hot enough it can stick together at the bottom and not mix in well, but if you add it slowly while it’s already mixing and after the milk gets hot it’s PERFECT! the hot chocolate ends up thick and smooth with zero bits at the top of bottom. We do use the hotel chocolate hot chocolate flakes with it and it tastes the same and has the same texture as our friends velvetiser so for half the prices it seems like a no brainier really. Overall I’m couldn’t be happier with this hot chocolate maker and would most definitely recommend it.

Great little product. Brought as a present for my daughter. Loves it and hot chocolate has never tasted so good. I use it for my coffee. YES!!!I absolutely do. A lot cheaper than other products. We are all feeling the pinch so what better way to relax than with a hot chocolate made with this product, in a oodie/hoodie on the sofa in front of the TV watching Strictly. BLISS.

Don't bother, the product doesn't get the milk even warm, let alone hot. Spend money on a hotel chocolat or similar.

This milk frothier is quiet, easy to use, and easy to clean. Frothed milk is lovely and, to my taste anyway, perfectly hot enough. A really good product.

If you like your milk hot then don’t buy this model. It’s a real shame as it’s very well made and good quality but the milk is only just warm if you don’t drink it immediately it’d go cold very quickly

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife and for the first three to four weeks after purchasing it it was absolutely brilliant. I was originally going to purchase a more expensive brand but thought I would give this a go and my wife was very impressed with it. At the start it was excellent at making hot milk, hot chocolate and amazing milky coffees etc. We looked forward to using it every evening as well as my young daughters, making hot chocolate or hot milk with them. Unfortunately three to four weeks after receiving it the product just stopped working. My wife went to turn it on one day and nothing happened. I changed the fuse in the plug which made no difference. We could not see anything obvious as to why it would just not turn on. It just appeared to be dead. It was always regularly cleaned as per the instructions. Unfortunately we have attempted to return the item to get a replacement only to see the "return window" is only four weeks and have no option of getting a replacement with the seller. I assumed there would be a year guarantee of some kind. Sadly what started as a really good product has ended up faulty with no option of getting a replacement from seller.
