Why can't it be stored in the sheath?

I store it in the sheath. It is a plastic sheath. Little oil on the knife and it is fine.

Does the 420 instead of 440 stainless steel make it more prone to rusting ? Since it's a downgrade in purity of stainless steel ?

The difference in steel will not make it more prone to rusting but please be sure to store all of our Camillus knives dry to prevent rusting.
