Saris Mag and Mag Plus Indoor Bike Trainer, Magnetic Resistance, Compatible with Zwift App

I like the Saris, it works well, sturdy and strong for my bike. This was a good purchase, however.... do not waste your money upgrading like I did for the shifter, that is pointless. But again, it's a solid indoor bike stand, no tipping, no scratching of the floor.

tl;dr : the mallet parts, smash the parts in with a mallet, please, SARIS if you read these........ fix that. YOU get a 1 star from out of the box installation otherwise it's 3-5 star, maybe i'll give this a ......4?..no, 3...... because first time setup outta the box is ACTUALLY a terrible experience... but once it's put together it's aiiiiiiight other thing specific to the mag+ model : the shifting line could do with some improvements -- like the part that hooks in at the bottom of the trainer near the floor, it nearly comes out unless you make sure the cable is off to the side so it's kinda impossible to look neat -- the shifting remote by the handlebars tends to not fully lock on if not rotated in a decent position i dunno it's weird , i have it currently at a spot where it ratchet and locks in but had it sliding before where it would just slip past and go back to hardest resistance so aaaaaaaaaah also mixed feelings there too 1 star putting it together 3-5 start once it's together 3 star for noise, it seems noisier than smart trainers 5 star for ride feel, feels a lot better than my wahoo kickr for the weird power issue i've been having so kinda went to the way of rollers also 5 star for convenience don't have to take the wheel off the bike anymore !!!!! so yeah lotsa mixed feelings

The trainer is well built and solidly made. The assembly was simple with the included instructions. The cable adjustments for the resistance was a bit confusing but if followed the adjuster worked as designed. Once assembled my road bike with 700 tires fit well and it was a stable riding platform. The one complain I have is that the resistance adjustment offers very little resistance if any at all. I contacted the manufacture and was told that the function of the magnetic resistance would not supply the level of resistance I was looking for and would need to get the resistance through my bike gearing. They recommended that I switch to one of the fluid trainers. I have used other manufactures trainers that offer a real resistance with an adjustable magnetic system. I was looking for a trainer that I could use in lieu of a smart trainer by making resistance adjustments manually. I returned the unit and purchased a smart wheel on trainer.

Not useable with rear wheel motor ebike's, due to the wire running through the axle or the ebike and the need to replace the rear axle skewer with a stronger one. 5* given for regular standard bike use, which it looks perfect for.

bought this for my husband for christmas. He was missing biking in these cold months. He LOVES this. He uses it every day. It's sturdy, well made and a WAY cheaper alterntive to buying a recumbent or standing bike. Worth every penny.

The Saris was easy to assemble and connect to my wife's bicycle. The special adaptors fit perfectly, and the bike is very stable in the mount. The bike doesn't need any drilling or permanent modifications which will change the bike; the adaptors can be removed without doing any damage. The magnetic pedaling force works well, and it is easy to change the force by using a lever attached on the handlebars. In the Spring, it will be easy to disconnect the Saris from the bike so my wife can ride her bike outside.

I am a competitive and recreational cyclist, have used my Minoura MagTurbo trainer for winter indoor training for over 20 years, it still works great. Wanted to get a new trainer, so purchased this one. It was a huge disappointment. Required assembly, the instructions were terrible, the parts are cheap, and there is almost no resistance, certainly no simulating a climb. I will buy a new Minoura, meanwhile return to my old Minoura that works fine, far better than this Saris.

I bought this trainer after trying a friend's Saris trainer, but it was the fluid type, not the magnetic type. The fluid type was smoother with a quieter ride. My main problem, however, with both trainers is that they don't offer enough resistance. My magnetic version has an adjustment, but it goes from ridiculously easy to very easy, totally useless. I also had difficulty assembling the product as the main carriage screw hole was not aligned, and therefore I had to hammer into place, not a very high quality aspect.
