Excellent performance
Not only this transformer works really well to feed an expensive Luxman audio equipment imported from Japan (that requires 100V), it also looks like a toy (in a good sense) -- the quality of the product and packaging is outstanding. It's also very quiet (virtually silent). I have another one, 1100 VA, same company but a different model (it allowing connecting two devices to it), and it's performance/quality is great as well. FYI: For those of you looking to feed an audio equipment, I learned that this type of transformers (EI-type) works much better than toroidal one -- I tried one product that uses toroidal transformer inside, bought here from Amazon (a different manufacture), and while that product looked great, it made my sound system sound very lifeless (so I returned it). Nissyo though is definitely recommended.

Very Well Built (Made in Japan) units.
Very well made in Japan item. Super heavy duty. The real deal. Worked perfectly with my 100V Sony EV-NS9000 Hi8 edit deck. 1 caveat you should know - 2 of the bolt down feet on this were bent back. These anchors are very well built but are still very easy to just bend back with pliers to bolt the unit straight down permanently. - BUT I'm guessing almost all of these units exhibit this issue due to the weight of the Transformers vs the size of the outer box and coming from overseas. Lastly, these units are powder coated, not painted - so very hard wearing and durable. - Another sign of a very high quality, industrial standard Transformer. imho, well worth the price tag.

expensive
this will cost you a lot more than a powerbrite, and the fuse is hard to replace. but it is also very compact. great little transformer you can hide behind your stereo. it has simple circuitry, so if you like that it's a good thing. i also like the placement of the plug. the powerbrite required i plug through both sides of the chassis, but this takes placement into account and has the outlet on the same side so i could conceal the wires better. only issue is mine came packaged poorly so the bottom was a bit warped. but it did not affect the quality of the product and i could easily bend it back with pliers if i ever wanted to.

Works perfectly for my needs!
It seems like a very good quality product. And itโs working perfectly for my Japanese kitchen appliances, which require a step down transformer from 120v to 110v.

I bought this for a small rice cooker
My wife no longer eats white rice, but I'm Japanese, and need my white rice. I bought this along with a small rice cooker and it totally fulfills my need. My rice cooker is intended for the 100v 60Hz in Japan and this converts the 120v 60Hz in the USA to the Japanese standard as long as you don't exceed the power of the transformer. It appears to be rugged enough for daily use. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

Seems Heavy duty and accurate
Down Transformer 550W 120V: 100V NDF-550U by Nissyo Kogyo After reading up on these Down Transformers,, this seem to be the one to get... Seems good build and i checked the output voltage and seems good (see pics) ... Time will tell, but it seems heavy duty and made to last.

Works good. Plug in and play.
Works good, I checked with a voltmeter just to be sure and it converted my 117V (120V) electricity to 97V (100V). I bought it for the Japanese stax energizer. I cannot vouch for longevity since I only had it for a month, but will update if it ever breaks down.
