Multicode 1090-3089 - 300MHz 1 Receiver with 1 Remote

I researched and read reviews on tons of different universal garage door opener remotes working with an older garage door opener and this was the only one that I found that worked in all the reviews. That being said I decided to purchase it.I installed it in less than 5 minutes and it was working perfectly! I have told many people I know about this product who have had the same issue with garage door remotes being lost or not working universally when they say they are universal. Very happy with this product.

I got this device from amazon ok. But it completely failed my purpose, and I don't know why since I don't have any source to get technical support. I have a more-than-ten-year-old craftsman garage door openner, and the remote controls stopped working with the original receiver. So I figured a universal Multicode receiver would be able to replace that. I followed the shipped instruction to connect the Multicode to the connectors of the original receiver and set the dipswitch on both the Multicode receiver and the remote control. But it simply did not work. The power supply for the relay is found to be 12V, and I guess this might be the problem since the required voltage for Multicode to operate is 24V. Now this device has become useless ...... don't know if I return it for my money back or keep it as an item for the next garage sale.

The range on this is great and it worked out of the box. I can open my garage door from the street (my garage is detached and hangs back at least 75 ft from the road and angular line of sight from the street is blocked by the house itself. Further testing allowed me to open the door from a couple of houses away.As far as installation: I simply cut the wires from the built in transmitter and hooked it up to the 3 prongs on this one. The included instructions were clear to avoid mistakes. Was simple to configure with Homelink thanks to the included remote.Edit: Sep 2023 and this still works!

We had this same product in our garage, it lasted almost 30 years in poor conditions, lots of moist and no maintenance. The new unit was an exact match and was replaced in 5 minutes. Works great

Price was excellent and the unit arrived on schedule. Unfortunately it was a set that was supposed to include both a transmitter and a receiver. We received only the receiver and it was not designed to operate with our existing transmitters so the unit was returned for a full refund.

I am not a handy man at all. Thankfully, this literally took me about 5 minutes to install upon changing the dip switches (so that they weren't in their "factory default" code). My garage door opener stopped working and I did not feel like replacing the whole unit; this receiver (and remote) have done the trick. I would give 5 stars but the receiver has somewhat limited range (10-15 feet at most for my home).I am happy with the product and would recommend to anyone

I haven't tried installing yet, so I may update this review, but the adapter that will run from receiver to back of door opener is not included and does not seem to be sold by Amazon so I'm not sure what is up with that. This seems like something that should be included as an obvious component of the receiver replacement set.

not sure why my OEM receiver failed but despite new batteries and new remote (supposedly universal)I had no success; so I tried this with very low expectations; I suspected I would end up having to replace the entire garage door opener despite it working fine to lift and lower the door;5 minutes out of the box and I got this installed and up and running; it works fine; also linked fine with Audi in-car system.
