LEGO Hidden Side 70428 Jack's Beach Buggy with AR Games App

This is amazing. I had some money so i bought this. It is one of the best £15 (I am in UK) sets ever. It's colours make it really eye catching. The minifigures are amazing and i love how you get 3 extra stickers to customise the viehicle . One of my best purchases.

My lad has had hours of fun with this, much more than ordinary lego!

Great figures and good play features, but gun on top comes off very easily. Petrol bit good addition to Lego city. Colours are great.

A gift for my nephew, he loved it.

My grandson requested this so was delighted with it.

Last time I reviewed a lego hidden side set it was rather disappointing as none of our many devices supported the app - which was surprising since most things work on one phone or the other. It was supposed to work on the nexus 5x but didn't. This time around, I have a new phone, a moto g6 power, and whoop, we are go. It's actually not a flagship phone so it's nice to see there's now a sensible option to allow kids to play these sets, but, and this is still a big but, it's still very exclusive. You either are in the "can run ARcore" club or you aren't. And if you aren't, you aren't. And only buying a new phone will fix that, so you're out of the game. The models themselves are pretty good but your child is going to resent not being able to use the app even though it's not a massive game changer itself... ...so yeah moving on to the app. It's your standard AR find a target game, you hunt ghosts and you uh...collect ghost stuff. It's fun, a bit, but if you can't get it working, you're not missing much honestly. It's not pokemon go level of good. You can level up and do other stuff, and if you have more sets you can do more sections, but a large part of the map is off limits unless you have every set which would be a bit obsessive. So, it's a mixed bag. If the app works, hmm, its fine, it's an extra layer of play on top of lego, if the app doesn't, I guess don't bother. You can install it in advance, it's called "lego hidden side". If you don't see it, it isn't available on your phone.
