K9 Gold-Plated Glass Reflective Lens

Upgraded my OmTech AF2028 80-watt laser to use these new mirrors to improve performance and well worth the price. Arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. Easy to install, just make sure after replacing one or more mirrors that you redo the mirror alignment so you get the best performance you can from your laser.

Bought a k40 at auction, didn't really know what to expect. One of the mirrors shattered (!) because it wasn't in great shape when I got it (must have taken too much heat). Couldn't cut through Luan before, 10mm/s 5 passes, just charred and never separated. These mirrors, same speed, one pass, all the way through. I don't know how it compares to stock mirrors in good shape, but they definitely get the job done now!

Just by looking at both the stock and these, you can tell it's an upgrade!!! Laser reflection is much better than with the stock mirrors which translates to less power required from the laser and better results. Also, they are really well priced for a replacement or as a backup! Do yourself the favor of upgrading if you still have the ones that came with the machine, your cutter will feel like it got a more powerful laser tube!!!

I order the gold-plated copper mirrors. They were packaged very well: in soft paper, inside of that aluminized plastic, inside of a box. The mirrors were clearly in this poor condition before shipping. It's like the gold coating is scratched off. I didn't return the mirrors because I really needed to get my laser up and running. The third mirror (not pictured) was also badly scratched, but not in the center at all. The mirror I installed seems to work really well, since luckily my laser isn't hitting the scratches! Even with 120W CO2 laser, it is performing well.

Before I replaced the mirrors, I was down to cutting 3mm birch plywood with 50% power on a 60W laser at a rate of 3.5mm per second. I thought my laser was dying. It wasn't. With after installing these mirrors, I am cutting the same wood with 40% power at a rate of 10.5mm per second. So that's a 20% reduction in necessary power and a 300% increase in speed. I actually charred a few pieces of wood calibrating my way down to this power and up to this speed.

So far so good. I cracked the previous mirrors somehow - maybe i used the wrong cleaner. These are full metal with the reflective coating instead of the glass that my unit came with. They fit well on the K40, and I saw an immediate improvement in power.

these mirrors were the best upgrade ever for the k40 laser, burns hotter and cleaner and much more scratch resistant than the k9 mirrors that come factory with the k40 laser, will definitely be buying more as a backup set
