A premium 1-cup coffee maker
I just bought a second one of these for my office after buying the first one about 7 years ago from Costco. It makes a perfectly hot cup of coffee in three minutes. I get up an hour or two before my wife, so it doesn't make sense to make a pot of coffee. Neither of us enjoy coffee that's been slow-cooking in a pot on a burner for an hour. We make three or four cups per day, at different times of the day, and have done so nearly every day for 7 years. The machine still works like new. Another reason I prefer this to a full size coffee pot is it's easier to clean. I use paper filters in the basket (size 4 cone filters), so literally the only thing that needs to be cleaned is the filter basket. I just rinse it in hot water between uses, and maybe once a week wash it with hot soapy water. I have used one-cup coffee makers by other companies and they all work okay to good, and cost about half as much as this Capresso machine. But they feel cheaper, not as well-made, and every single one of them has died after about 1-2 years. Capresso/Jura is a premium brand with reputable coffee makers and espresso machines. I don't mind paying $40 instead of $20 for a premium coffee maker that works reliably perfectly and will last way more than twice as long as the cheap ones.

One cup
2 scoops per cup add cream and sugar if needed. By the time you get out of the shower, all you need to do is give it a stir and down it goes or just take it with you. Always a good cup so far.

Great coffee maker - with some caveats and workarounds.
This is a very good compact coffee maker for home or travel. If not for a few design flaws, I would give it five stars. I initially bought this for travel, but find myself using it in place of my Cuisinart full-sized coffee maker when just making coffee for myself. It works great in hotel rooms, or when when staying at other people's homes/rentals while traveling. It can even work at rest stops, provided a plug-in can be found. The pros: small size, very quiet, nice mug, and great coffee once the nuances of making it are learned. It even works well for a second mug using a 2nd run-through of the original grounds if a small amount of new grounds are added. It takes 5 min or less to brew a mug of coffee which is much faster than my full-sized coffee maker. The cons: the included filter leaks grounds into the mug, the top of the coffee maker will not stay up, and there is no auto-shut off which can cause drips and spills to occur if the mug is removed before all the liquid has flowed from the basket above. For me, the worst issue is the propensity of the water and grounds overflow the brew basket. This results in the grounds backflowing into the water reservoir causing a messy cleanup, plus a nasty amount of grounds in the mug. All these issues can be overcome, however. I use a small paper basket filter which works much better than the included filter, and have learned to grind my own coffee to the proper coarseness. It took some hit and miss to figure this out. Finely ground coffee does not work well at all with this maker since it tends to float over the top of the basket. Adding only 2.5 to 3.0 teaspoons of course coffee grounds (1-tsp = 1 flat scoop) normally prevents the backflow issue. If you add more than 3 scoops for the first run, it can be risky. On the second cup, you can add another 1/2 scoop or so and still have good coffee without having backflow issues. I normally fill the mug to only 3/4 full when adding water to the reservoir. Any more than this can result in backflow issues or overly weak coffee. The hot water flows through the basket and into the mug rather quickly, so there is still some "oomph" remaining in the grounds after the first mug is made. The grounds are course, after all. I fashioned a small tube which can be inserted into the hinge of the lid to keep it from falling down while adding grounds to the basket, or cleaning/drying the coffee maker. With all these work-arounds, I am very happy with this unit after using if for almost a year now.

way to go for one cup at a time
My wife and I had to cut back on coffee consumption and stopped making a whole pot in the morning. Also, I need to drink half caffeinated and she usually takes full strength. We decided a one cup maker would be the way to go. We didn't like the wastefulness and expense of pods. We gave this a try because we'd used a Capresso maker for many years and were happy with it. This is a very basic machine. You put the grounds into the reusable basket, pour in the water, put your cup on the stand (don't forget this part!) and push the button. No brew settings, no beeping to let you know the coffee is ready, no hot surface to try to keep the cup warm. There is also no valve under the filter to keep it from dripping when you remove the cup. We've just gotten in the habit of emptying the grounds before we take the cup out from under the machine most of the time. Oh, as others have mentioned, the travel cup that comes with this is REALLY terrible! Capresso should do better. So it's got it's flaws but...we really like the way the coffee comes out. The temperature is right and it brews at the proper speed to let the flavor come though and it's easy to use.

Don't waste your money
Garbage, don't buy. Didn't last 4 months. If I could give a zero star, I would. I could brew coffee through a busted rubber better than this junk could brew. STAY AWAY!!!

Hot Stuff!
This little coffee maker is absolutely perfect! I like super hot coffee, and this maker is HOT! I’ve tried several others before landing on this one and could not be happier! I previously owned two Keurigs with temperature and brew strength controls. It was all just for show, the Settings did nothing, and never affected the outcome of my coffee. The coffee was MEH and warm. Both keurigs were upwards of $150, and broke within 13 months, conveniently just out of warranty. I will never buy another Keurig. This one is over 3 times cheaper too! Capresso is making mornings great again!

This coffee maker is simple, makes strong hot coffee in no time and is so easy to clean. I love the full stainless steel travel mug that comes with it. It also takes little space on the counter. I definitely recommend it!

En mi casa sólo yo tomó café, es muy útil y rápida cuando solamente necesitas hacer 1 termo. Muy fácil de limpiar y evitas las complicaciones de otras cafeteras. Ocupa poco espacio.

I use the product to make my morning 16 oz coffee. ☕️ I love the fact that it makes a large 16 oz mug of coffee. Many products only make small liquid sizes. The only thing that could be improved is the temperature of coffee, could be a little hotter. Nice product…🥰
