Q: How does this work with a heat lamp? Will it completely shut it off if the temp gets too hot or will it dim the power to reach the right temp?

It will turn on when the temperature goes below the set. And it will turn off when it gets above the temp. As would your air conditioning, it will not adjust the output to maintain a single temperature

Q: How do you turn off the annoying beep? I paid $50 for this to keep my turtle comfortable but not to make me uncomfortable.

You can turn the beep off by pressing any button! It’s only beeping because the temperature you have it set to is not being reached. Try adjusting the temperature of the tank or on the device itself.

Q: What plug in do you use for the humidifier?

marandon n. must be looking at a different product. The images as of today clearly show 3 plugs, labeled temperature, timer and always on. There is NO plug labeled humidity. Humidity on this model appears to be a manual process that you must monitor. You an use either always on or timed, but neither will monitor the humidity and start or stop it so it is maintained in between a range required for your pet. Add this functionality and make the display bigger and they may have something. I had to make my own controller for my chameleon to do exactly what this product does, but had to run it off a smart power strip for light timing (3 different lights used to simulate sunset and sunrise). The controller controls humidity in several different ways, with the lights, nonindependent of the lights or off. If the quality is there on this product, it looks solid, but is missing a true humidity control.
