Krud Kutter GO012 Gloss Off Prepaint Surface Preparation Cleaner, Gallon

I’ve been a professional painting contractor for 30 years. This stuff works really well for cleaning surfaces such as finished cabinets prior to priming. It removed dirt, grease, and de-glosses the surface which helps the bonding primer to adhere properly. It’s not great at removing adhesive residue from self-stick door bumpers and tape, so we still use Goof Off for that. Odor isn't bad at all, but breathing in the overspray really gets me coughing (and I'm not usually bothered by much), so I really try to avoid it. Overall, great product for repainting finished surfaces.

This works great on wood that is stained that you want to paint white. Just wipe it down really good and go straight to priming after it dries. Saves a lot of time

Used this to de-gloss my kitchen cabinets and Formica counter top before priming and painting. Did the job well and didn’t have to sand, this saved a lot of time when repainting my kitchen!

It's very satisfying when you buy something and it's just what you needed. Krud Kutter worked so well that after I used it, the door looked so good that I almost hesitated to paint! Extremely pleased with this product.

This product works great for prepping wood before it’s painted. It’s easy to use and not as caustic as some other prep solutions. The large jug goes a long was, too!

I have used this om many surfaces. Today, I used it on a little cart that had rust on it. cleaned up better then I expected. I painted my little hand cart and it came out great. I used it on my patio rails before the first coat of paint. I do recommend using this, before painting, especially outdoors.

Odorless, soapy, and great for removing grime, but definitely NOT a deglosser. If you're looking to remove varnish before painting this will leave that varnish squeaky clean, but sadly just as glossy as before.

When my favorite wallpaper remover product was discontinued, I tried Krud Kutter and could not be happier. It removes the wallpaper and the glue more quickly than products that are pitched specifically for wallpaper removal. It's also great at prepping doors and walls for painting. I've ditched my other cleaning products and use only this for painting prep.
