Vitiligo Vitiligo is often a frustrating condition for patients and dermatologists alike, but things are definitely looking up. Newer treatments are more effective and have fewer side effects. Furthermore, research in the pipeline now is very promising โ both in eliminating the causes of vitiligo and forming new approaches to its treatment. As a dermatologist, I find that Vitiligo patients who stay abreast of the science behind the disease understand it better and make the best decisions regarding treatment, diet, and sun health. This books provides the medical information needed as well as practical tips for managing the condition.I do hope this book is useful for patients and families. Some of the material may appear at first to be โtoo hardโ to read โ but this is vitiligo โ a lifelong condition with many causes and many approaches to treatment. If I had one wish beyond a cure for vitiligo it would be for it to become as well-known as freckles so that little children wouldnโt feel the need to have printed cards explaining vitiligo to pass out to curious strangers. I hope this book answers all your questions about the disease. Covered in this book:- The skin- Diagnosis- Causes- Triggers- Associated conditions- Management- Remedies- Treatments- Vitiligo Community- Costs- Mental health... and much more Review: Great - This gave a great summary of vitiligo. My 4 year old was diagnosed with it last year and while the doctors don't recommend any treatments right now it's good to know what will be available when she is older and good to know more about the disorder in general. Review: Heavy on the current research. I would've liked more personal stories - Thorough

Good basic information for people affected by vitiligo
This book on vitiligo is fast to read and it covers most of what someone who has vitiligo would want to learn to get started. The information is well divided into clear chapters with sections on possible causes, possible treatments, etc. I would have liked to have some information about the author who is apparently a dermatologist. There's no information as to where he practices or his speciality, or whether he has been affected himself by vitiligo. There's also no information for UK patients as to what the NHS provides. The book seems to have been written for a mostly USA-based audience, but it's still helpful for UK readers.

Misleading product
Misleading product, it looks like a vitiligo cream or medicine, but after purchase i found out it is only a book. Many people may buy it thinking it's a medical product.
