Arrived on time and well packaged. This has become my preferred brand of coconut milk. It lends depth and a wonderfully creamy texture to my cooked items and beverages.

(This review is for the cartons, not cans. The cartons are way better as far as staying homogeneous, flavor, etc.) I've tried many different brands of coconut and other milk alternatives and after years of trying many, this is still the absolute best. Here's why: (1) Has ONLY ONE ingredient besides water but still maintains optimum flavor and texture despite not having added gums, flavors, minerals, etc. (2) The closest sub for half and half in coffee or tea. As a closeted dairy lover but who denies myself dairy most of the time, I just want a nut milk that has clean ingredients but tastes like real cream in my espresso or at the very least colors my coffee and tea in a satisfying way. Oat milk is NOT a cleaner sub than cream but it's the most common alternative. Most almond and other nut milks are watery in coffee or have a lot of added ingredients to make them less watery. (3) Stays mostly homogeneous and smooth when all other addictive free coconut milk products separate at different temperatures or after opening and refrigerating. (Unprocessed and uncut coconut milk is by nature a high fat product that solidifies in cold temperatures like butter and water mixed together.) I can open a carton, know that it will have the consistency of whole milk, pop it in the fridge, and it will stay that general consistency for the next 2 weeks as I use a couple tablespoons a day. It will get thicker as I get to the end of the carton but it will stay homogeneous and maintain a creamy and decadent flavor in my coffee. (Also it doesn't go bad quickly despite being free of preservatives and stabilizers.) I genuinely hope this company never tries to "improve" this product like so many companies do and then ruin a good, clean product in favor of cutting costs and appealing to the masses. Coconut milk does not need added flavorings, gums, etc, to work as a milk alternative! Please never change this product. And if you do, let me have all the rest of your stock before you change to a new formula lol

We've been enjoying Thai curry a lot lately. I buy a variety of premixed curry pastes and keep them in the refrigerator so I can make a double batch of curry when the spirit moves me. It's a quick, delicious meal I can prepare in less than an hour, even with frozen protein, which I usually keep on hand, such as chicken breasts, shrimp, pork, and fish. The Thai Kitchen Unsweetened Coconut Milk makes for an excellent main course. I like these aseptic cartons; they are more economical (and environmentally friendly, I *think*?) than cans. One carton equals (almost) two cans you commonly find in the supermarket. It should be noted (although the manufactur makes NO mention of this on the Amazon product page) that the product in cans includes guar gum, whereas the seemingly identical product in these cartons does not. Honestly I don't really think it matters. Not sure why the difference, but I've made curry many times with each version of the coconut milk, and never noticed a difference. I like the cartons because they're slightly more economical than the cans, and I like to make a double batch so we can eat one for dinner and refrigerate or freeze the other half for later. When I freeze some, I just move it back to the refrigerator a day or two before we use it and it's thawed (sometimes not 100% if it's the next day, but always if it's been 48 hours). By the way, I stopped buying Thai Kitchen curry pastes in the supermarket. Although we enjoyed them and there's nothing wrong with the taste or quality, they are quite a bit more expensive than the ones I buy here on Amazon. I bought this Tetra Pak variation so I could reseal it and take it with me since I live in 2 places and so my once open cans wouldn’t spill. But despite shaking as vigorously as I could, the huge chunk of coconut cream will absolutely not reconstitute with the liquid. I don’t even think the hardware stores paint mixer could shake this back to a full liquid state! Then it won’t pour out the spout and needs the box cut anyway, defeating the purpose of the resealable top! You can’t even squeeze it out. I also wanted since this doesn’t have the guar gum like in the cans. Ugh… why is the idea of convenience never how it actually is in real life. After tasting it I changed my 3* to 1. Tasted so bad and ruined 2 smoothies with 2 different cartons. Called the company to inform them of this product that wasn’t thought out very well and to report the bad taste. Had it only been the clump, no big deal. I like it to make creamy smoothies but a foul taste tells me something else is wrong with their food handling and packing and needs to be addressed. Their customer service is making amends and told me also to call Amazon for a refund which they did. Hopefully the cans taste like they usually do. I have used this brand but the can years ago for a diy conditioner it worked great my hair loved it. Now I'm locked been for 3 years and Im Starting to use my diy conditioner again

It's a milder tasting coconut milk, which makes it better as a non-dairy substitute in things like soups and salad dressing when you don't need a coconut-forward taste. I am sensitive to carrageenan and other additives, and this coconut milk does not have any of those thickeners/stabilizers. But because it does not have those additives, it tends to separate a bit when it's been sitting on the shelf for a while. At then end of a carton, there's often a lump of coconut fat/solids still in there. I cut open the carton and use the coconut oil in a curry. That being said, an open carton stays fresh in the fridge for a LONG time, and if you use it pretty quickly, it does not separate at all.

This is a good reliable staple product. Trusted brand. And the bulk price here is very good.

I've been ordering this on repeat monthly delivery since last summer. I use it every morning in my cacao/maca drink. However about 3 or 4 months ago the consistency changed and it got suuuper thick in the fridge. Like barely pourable, I had to squeeze it out. This should not happen if no gums or emulsifiers are added. It was very strange and wasteful, and time consuming, since it got so thick I couldn't even pour it all it of the container, so then I had to dilute it with water, shake it, to try to get it all out. Makes a bit of a mess, the whole process. Finally with my latest shipment, I opened one and it was nice and smooth and even upon refrigeration, it stayed this way! Yes! So not sure what was going on..I'm tempted to think they were accidentally adding gums/emulsifiers to this version. I intentionally avoid additives/emulsifiers so I really hope not, but can't think of any other explanation for the dramatic change in consistency. Glad it's fixed now. Hope it stays this way, bc it's the perfect consistency. Thick and creamy but not too thick, no chunks either. I don't mind a few chunks as this is just the coconut oils aggregating, and it melts back into solution with some heat. Definitely a good buy, recommend. Unfortunate some reviews have experience with coagulation/bad product, but in my nearly dozen shipments I have never experienced this at all. Probably weather related in terms of shipping/storage? Left in too hot conditions/the direct sun?
