Richie House Big Girls' Padded Winter Jacket with Belt and Faux Fur Hood RH0784

I bought this coat for my daughter for Christmas. As she is now 8, but will be 9 in February, I wanted the coat to be roomy, I checked the size chart, and went up a size to the 9/10. It fit perfectly. She just adores this coat and with our freezing weather of late, she is the envy of all her friends. Bright and cherry in a wonderful red, and as an added surprise, which I did not realize, the fur trim is on the hood and inside of the coat too. It is really just so cute on her. She keeps saying, "Oh I hope this fits me next year too." I don't know that it will, but for now she is just loving it; I'm happy that she's warm when she goes outside, and we can all spot her on the crowded school playground because she stands out in her bright red coat. All of her friends are envious. Beautifully made and the fur isn't cheap or scraggly like I've seen on some other coats, but really plush and quite beautiful.

I just received it.I bought it in blue for my daughter.It arrived very fast and it's so pretty and so warm.It is beyond my expectations.My daughter is so happy,she can't wait to wear it tomorrow for school.You can check the pictures that i took.

Seems like a warm enough coat for northeast winters. I usually like to buy coats that have fleece interior, with fleece sleeves and hood. This seemed like a good alternative, as it has fur like material on the inner front and back of the coat. It starts at the very top of the coat and goes down all the way to the very bottom. So the entire back, front, and legs up to the knee are warm and toasty. This is my daughters favorite part. She loves fluffy things and the inside of this coat is very fluffy.I would have like for the fur to also be on the inside of the hood. Instead the inside of hood is a satiny polyester material.same for the sleeves. I hope that the sleeves will be warm enough. I do like that the sleeves are cuffed at the wrist to keep out air. The color ice blue is a beautiful bright color. I love the 3/4 lenght of the coat...it goes down to just above the knee. Im not too crazy about the belt. I hope that in attempting to open and close it, it doesnt break. It doesnt seem too sturdy to me. The belt does detach and so does the hood with a zipper. I like the style of the coat..how it comes fitted at the waist with the belt. The sizing seems true to size. Coat closes with zipper and gunmetal clasps. Around the neck and chin there is a soft cuordory like material to keep neck and chin warm. Zipper zips all the way up to the chin.The major drawback of this coat is the pockets. I love how pockets are accessorized with a cute bow but the pockets are extremely small, not functional at all.They are not warm inside. They have same satiny polyester material as inside of the hood. There is no zipper to keep gloves inside. To keep gloves from getting lost daughter would usually keep gloves zipped in pockets when not in use. There are no zippered pickets on this coat.If you were to keep gloves inside, they can easily fall out..not roomy in the pockets at all. No other pockets anywhere in coat for holding gloves. Wish it had zippered pockets. Daughter would have to wear gloves most of the time, as opposed to just being able to keep hands in pockets.This is why i gave it 4 stars.

I really wanted to give this jacket 5 stars and had I written a review when I got it I would have. The style is adorable. The fit is spot on. My daughter loves it and I love it. My daughter says it's nice and warm which is a lot to say for a jacket standing up to Minnesota winters. I gave it a 2 and was really close to giving it a 1 because a month after she wore it, (this was still early winter so she wasn't wearing it everyday) the seam in the hat had frayed and split open. We lived with it because if she had the hood up you couldn't see it. But that said, this isn't even a seam that has high stress! The next month (now were into December and everyday use) we noticed two other seems that has frayed and had white stuffing poking through the splitting seam. These were vertical seams along the bottom edge of the jacket. A little bit more more high stress seams but now she had three seams that were splitting and fraying up about 4 inches each. We're Minnesotans and we know our winter gear and I've been buying kid winter jackets for 7+ years and have never had a jacket fall apart like this one. Very dissapointed in this product and wish I could return it but we're 3 months into the purchase. Keep in mind, she's a low key princess kid and not a rough and tumble kid, meaning she's not tough on clothes. Now I'm stuck looking for a new jacket for her in the middle of winter.

lol ok so i bought this jacket for me not realizing this product is for children ugh cute jacket but if you're a petite women like me it won't look good unless youhave long red gloves😂

My daughter picked this coat of hundreds she looked at. She loves the fuzzy inside and the look of it. And it's nice and warm. I love that she's wearing a coat with a belt and hook like I did in the 80's!The hood is ginormous, but she will likely wear a hat instead. And amazon had some confusion with the provider as to who was shipping the coat, so I had to send some emails and reorder a 2nd time in order to get it here. We've only had it 1 day, but so far, it was worth the wait!

My 5 year old had this coat 3 weeks before it started tearing. There are 4 rips in the fabric already! One in the armpit, one under each of the front pockets, and the belt has ripped open as well. After you zip it the bottom comes open, it is crap. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE COAT.Update: more rips. As soon as I sew one, another appears. Very disappointing.

I bought this coat for my granddaughter who is 9. We got her a size 12. It fits ok. It is cheaper quality than expected for the price we paid. It has fur lining inside the coat which we didn’t know about. Would definitely not be my first choice if I got to do it over again.

Excellent quality, very warm, looks good, my girl loves it.Con: pockets are quite small, Ok for small gloves, but bigger mittens will not fit. Not a deal breaker!

Arrived way ahead of estimated delivery date, fits perfectly and my little princess loves it to bits. great product, no complaints
