KidKraft Nantucket Wooden Storage Bench with Three Bins and Wainscoting Detail - White, Gift for Ages 3+

I’m updating this review 12 years after I first wrote it after buying 2 of these storage benches on Amazon 22 years ago. In the 12 years we have had these, my two children have used them daily. They have been sat and stood on by both parents and our kids, banged on, and moved from one spot to another. This is a quality furniture and one of the best things I’ve found for family living.Original review (12 years ago):This is the second piece of children's furniture I have purchased by this company (KidKraft) and I feel comfortable in recommending them and their wares highly. I am not good at reading directions or putting things together, but this really was very simple to put together and the instructions were great (easy to follow steps and pictures). The bench is lovely; solid, pretty, roomy. Really a perfect addition to our toddler's room. Great find! Note that while we are using this for our son's toys, it is sturdy and attractive enough to use anywhere in the house - it's not just for kids.

This was exactly what I was looking for in a toy chest. The directions for assembly is one of the best I've ever seen and I've put a LOT of things together! It took about an hour and a 1/2...would have been less time had I had an electric screwdriver. A few people commented on the odor. Yes, there was a distinct paint odor but it disappeared within a week. Not a reason NOT to buy! It was a bit smaller than I thought yet works perfectly in the space I have. It's also a good size for my young grandchildren who can easily take the 'buckets' in and out. A perfect choice for our family.

Some reviews complain that it is smaller than expected. The outside measurements given are accurate, but keep in mind the dimensions include the frame and "feet." Here are the approximate inside measurements for each of the three drawers: 11.75 inches from front to back, 10.75" wide and 10" deep. We bought this unit to tidy up our mudroom area which we use as our kitty nook. The bins are a good size for stashing items like liners, gloves and masks, a spare bag of dry cat food, and shoes. We are not utilizing it as a bench but as a shelf. It may be more expensive than average compared to other similar units, but the wood slat design that matched our exiting unit, the color, and the measurements made it absolutely perfect for our needs. It took my husband a little less than an hour to put together. He had one complaint about "no arrow mark" on a screw or something. But it is solid, and as you can see, looks great. We are 100% pleased.

I disliked the packaging of the shipping box. It was thin cardboard and the tape was dry/brittle and disintegrated. Box was open around 3 sides. Luckily, it wasn’t in a bad condition but did have a few edges that were scrapped. Other than that, it’s definitely the perfect size, great look and style and easy (for the most part) to put together. Hardest part was tightening screws inside the cubbies.

The product description says this is wood. Some of it is; the rest is pressboard. It looked sturdy enough, so I spent a few hours putting it together. I got to the second to last piece and the holds were misaligned. There were gaps all over the place and the "wood" splintered. I returned it after spending another 1/2 hour taking it apart.Based on the other reviews, I most likely just got a dud. Won't be reordering, however.

Not worth the price. We bought two and have the same issue with both. The style is cute and assembly was easy but the materials do not last. The drawers are ok but the frame keeps coming loose on both of our sets. I’m not sure why since the drawers are the parts that get the most use. The screws in the joints (esp for the top panel) no longer seem to tighten completely. The screws feel loose probably because we’ve had to tighten them repeatedly. I tried to stay away from IKEA and now regret it.

I bought this to be a stand for my Aerogarden Farm and it worked perfectly. The dimensions are just slightly bigger than the base of the farm so there is no concern with it falling off but also no wasted space. The cubes add a bit of storage for keeping the plant food and other accessories. The white color is also a perfect match to the white farm. It is sturdy and well made.The cubes can be difficult to pull out as they aren’t drawers and there can be a lot of friction, but I added some felt to the bottom of them and now they are easy to pull out.I highly recommend this for anyone with an Aerogarden Farm (or Farm Plus or Farm XL) looking for a stand and storage.

Perfect for my intended use. Put in the laundry room for my granddaughters swimsuits, t-shirt, extra hoodie, shorts and socks. Each one knows "their" drawer and I no longer have to figure out where their suits are or find dry clothes when they get out of the pool. When their friends come, ALL of their suits are in their drawer for loaning. While they don't live we us, they do have bedrooms in our home and sending them to their rooms to find their suits....not a good idea! Most importantly, they love knowing where their stuff is. Beach towels folded up, fit perfectly on the top. swim time still is with excitement...but simple!!!

Eine schöne Sitzbank. Leider konnte ich sie nicht fertig aufbauen da diverse Bohrungen, die für die Schrauben vorgesehen sind, falsch waren. Nun steht sie halb aufgebaut da, Karton ist schon weg ich muss sehen wie ich sie wieder zurück senden kann.... Ärgerlich und Zeitaufwendig!

Buena calidad de la madera y del acabado. Aunque precio escesivamente alto para lo que es. Además cuesta abrir los cajones porque pesan y el rozamiento con la base hace que se acabe marcando la madera. Es bonito pero poco práctico para abrir blos cajones a diario.
