Smells Good, Softens Skin, Lessens Irritation, Improves Shaving
The oil is excellent, especially when it comes to covering sensitive and troublesome shaving areas. The razor glides over any trouble spots making each shave a pleasure. The scent is excellent and does not take much to get good coverage on the face, and makes shaving a piece of cake. I am rarely one who ever nicks myself shaving anyway but I sound this especially helpful when doing my second pass going lightly against the grain for that extra smoothness. My skin does not get irritated in the slightest nor does it break out. I will not shave ever again without this product.

Works great
I have been religious using Old Taylor shaving cream for the last several years and thought I would give this a try. The oil is very thick and sticks to your beard well. The thing that I notice is as your blade gets a little duller there is less pull on your face when using this . Seems like I get a few more shaves out of each blade. I do have one nit to pick. I shave in the shower, as do many guys. This is in a really smooth’ glass bottle with a smooth black screw on lid. When you hands are wet and soapy in the shower my fear is because of how smooth it is and how slippery my hands are- there might be a time that I could drop this on the tile of my shower and have broken glass to walk on. I am nearsighted as well and between steam, water running, white tile and clear glass it could be a challenge. A plastic squeeze bottle with a flip lid would solve the problem. Not as elegant perhaps, but certainly safer.

A n excellent product for shaving
This is an excellent product for shaving. My husband shaves his head as well as his face, and this pre-shave oil provides a smooth and moist surface for the razor, which reduces greatly the incidence of nicks and cuts. It also leaves behind a pleasant scent of sandalwood which is decidedly masculine and appealing. Also recommend the after-shave balm from the same company. The only negative comment my husband has is that it can gum up the razor a bit if not properly rinsed with hot water.

I like it but it's too pricey
Pre-shave oils are debated by enthusiasts -- some love them, some don't see the point, and some like them but think anything other than homemade is a ripoff. What does a pre-shave oil do? The usual explanation is that it serves as a skin moisturizer, not as a shaving lubricant. So, you put a couple of drops in your hand and work it in to your skin and give it a minute or so to absorb before you start your normal shaving routine. If your skin is greasy you've put on too much. Do they work? Reports vary. I use a straight edge and I find pre-shave oils help me with my shave but they are not the most important step (having wet hair and well lathered face matter more). But my skin isn't very dry so maybe they will do more good for you than for me. Are they worth the price? This is where it gets tricky. The ingredients in most pre-shaves are pretty simple -- as good oil or oil mix for skin conditioning (e.g. 2 parts castor + 1 part olive) and a non-skin-irritating scent. For the price of a single ounce of Taylor of Old Bond you could probably make yourself a half gallon. But oils go rancid so unless you can split with a lot of "shaving buddies" I'm not sure you'll save that much in the long run. The Taylor of Old Bond pre-shave smells nice and a couple of drops will probably work for most people. Still, I doubt you'll get more than a few months for a bottle so it comes down to how much you wish to spend on shaving. If you are shave with one of those expensive multi-bladed disposable monstrosities you may not notice the extra 20 cents or so per day this will add. If you use a straight razor or a dual edge safety blade you may think differently. Anyway, I really like Taylor of Old Bond Street products and I like their pre-shave oil -- it smells great and a couple of drops do a nice job. But it's expensive; in my opinion, silly expensive.

Great Product - Leaking on Arrival - Packaging Needs to be Improved
This the third time i have ordered this product and each time the product has arrived, it has leaked in transit. The exterior packaging by the sender is very good; however, the problem is with the bottle which appears to leak within each individual box. I would say that each product lost approximately 10%; not a lot but worth pointing out. The product itself is excellent.

If you need it.
If your like me and got in to DE shaving i want to try all the different stuff that comes along with it. I do face and head in the shower and while it lasted i used this on my head. It made the pass nice and smooth like its supposed to. I dont have sensitive skin so I dont really need it for a good close shave with minimal irritation. Loved the smell though.

I loved the scent and it was a quality oil
I purchased this because I bought it initially in-person at a store in Utah. I loved the scent and it was a quality oil. However, the mail order version doesn't seem to be of the same caliber and the scent isn't as long lasting.

This stuff is THICK!!
So most pre shave oils I’ve used are like using an oil. This “oil” is super thick and gels to almost anything it touches. I required multiple handwashings with hot water and soap to get it off my hands. That said, when combined with my shaving soap, Proraso Green, it gave the smoothest shave I think I’ve ever had. I think next time I’ll wear some nitrile gloves to apply it.

Husbands Review: I use an aggressive razor and this shaving oil was a life changer! It has a medium consistency and is scented. I was unsure about the scent at first but after rinsing it is so mild that it is unnoticeable... razor burn and neck rash are now a thing of the past, I would buy again.

tiene un agradable olor, llego rápido y bien empaquetado, el único pero que le pondría es su costo tan elevado, para tan poco producto, pero aun a si como solo ocupo entre 6 y 8 gotas, tengo producto para medio año o incluso mas
