I give this product five stars because those Korean resellers and producers did nothing wrong. The quality is good indeed. Not as tough/hard as regular Japanese one which is unsweetened. Japanese food lovers beware, this is not regular surume. It was totally my fault that I didn't check if that Korean dried squid was sweetened. Not unpleasant but simply sweet. I will be using those sweetened dried squid for "matsumae zuke" which is Japanese soy sauce-pickled dish with thinly sliced and cooked squid and kelp.

I love this brand, this particular snack is hard chewy and I like it because of that. their other variations are more tender and have different flavors but this likely is my favorite.

This is my wife's favorite snack. It makes her very happy to receive these, so I will buy them into perpetuity :-D. Apparently, there are two factories where these are made and the squid texture varies per factory. My wife loves the more chewy, chubby (in her words) ones, but I've also been told that some prefer the drier/more jerky-like ones. Luckily, she has gotten more of the ones she likes, but you might get either with your order. Great product, will be buying more for sure in the future.

I was grown up in Korea and I love it. I ordered three or four times already. it is very authentic food... if you don't know what you are getting, it could taste very foreign. I originally gave five stars and now I only give three. They are raising their price little by little and the shipment gets delayed everytime. I may not buy this again with the price.

Is it suppose to be this hard?? I don't mean chewy hard, this is just solid rock hard. Couldn't chew at all. The only way I can eat this is to microwave it till it becomes like a cracker. Good to eat after microwaving it but after 3rd bag, I had a stomach ache. The next day, started vomiting and had to call the doctor and the visit to urgent care cost a lot of $$$s.. :( Want to give negative stars for the what I went through but giving 2 for the product. Update & downgrading to 1 star. So I'm down to my 2 bags and these two are totally different from the other bags. Not as dark and Solid Rock Hard but lighter in color and just hard. Also chewy after microwave (not cracker-like the other bags). This confirmed the other 8 bags were very very old to a point that you won't get it to be chewy even after microwaving them. Avoid getting it from kumsun-global

Great snack. Fantastic addition to any chewing addict. Beef jerkey is so yesteryear, this will hurt your jaw like jawstoppers and you would want it more. All is good except... price is steadily increasing... increased nearly $5 over several months.

Nostalgia. If you grew up in Korea, you should know what this is. It is sort of an acquired taste :) The product itself is extremely hard to chew... but that is the point. These hard squids will eventually give up when combined with your saliva... then you will experience the real taste. Sweet N Chewy!
