I replaced an old thermostat that is connected to my old furnace. The furnace is over 20 years old and works well for now and the old thermostat was good and simple. When the thermostat failed I decided to go digital and bought this thermostat. The electrical connections were a little bit different but the instructions on the thermostat were good enough for a clean installation. I set it up and it works great. It also interacted well with my old furnace. The interaction of an old furnace with a new thermostat is seamless. The only thing that I don't like is that the thermostat does not tell you when the batteries are failing. The thermostat operation just stops. I woke up one time and the temperature in the bedroom was cold. I felt like I was sleeping outdoors. Then I came down to look at the thermostat and noticed that the screen was blank. I replaced the batteries and then everything was good but it took the furnace a while to get the temperature back up. Overall this thermostat is good and a good buy.

Works great. Bought it as a replacement for the old one. Was exactly the same just cheaper in price than the one from Home you know where. lol. Works great. Controls the air conditioning and heat and you can get technical if you want to and set timers and all that but I just use it to turn on a/c and heat. Would recommend.

This is a very basic no thrills thermostat for a great price from a reputable company. My old one just stopped working mid winter and I found this with fast shipping. Whats great is it’s the exact same bracket as my previous model which is just like this but without the light up screen. Even the directions show the old model. With that one I always was using my phone flashlight so this is a nice upgrade. They’re otherwise almost identical. Yes, the screen has the weird marks on it but it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy to be able to see it in the dark. The schedule is a cool feature. I don’t know if there’s an option to use less times for it though. Might be nice. Would I love mobile features. Yes. But at this price I wouldn’t expect it and at least I was able to avoid any drilling. Was able to install in 30 seconds because of it.

DON'T BUY IT!!! It worked, kind of, for a very short time, then the screen started going dark, little by little. I called the number in the manual since it was 7 months since purchase. The representative was among the worst I have ever experienced. Impertinent, talked over me so I could not explain, and was very difficult to understand because she has an accent and refused to slow down. (I myself have an accent, so no, I hold no grudge against people with accents.) Then she told me that I would need to take four different photos of the thermostat, including one attached to a "boltage" meter. I don't know about you, but I don't have one and I don't know anyone who does. It's not a screwdriver, for goodness sake. That effectively meant they had no intention of accepting the return for a replacement. She started going on, reading a URL out loud, at the speed of reciting the alphabet. Truly making no effort to be helpful. The thermostat is very basic. It cools and heats one degree above or below what you set it to, which I have never encountered before. The installation was fairly easy, but who cares when the screen is almost black??? SHAMEFUL customer service. Don't buy unless you don't care if the warranty is worthless. Never again.

I found out to my cost that this unit will not switch 240v. This means, if you're trying to make your roomstat more intelligent, this is not the one for you. Thank you Amazon for a stress free return and refund.
