A CHILD'S DELIGHT
My adult daughter loves this book as much as my grandchildren do! My grandkids, 4 and 10, are devoted animal lovers who spend hours each week watching various PBS, Discovery Channel, and NickJr animal shows. Their knowledge of animal habitats, eating habits, predators, life cycles, etc. constantly astounds me. I say all this to make the point that this book is a treasure for ALL children, whether novices to the world of animals or steeped in it. Each of the "pages" or sections opens to an environment, a habitat, in which one finds a variety of animals that one might actually encounter in the same area in the wild. The color, the detail are brilliant. Each of the scenes is good for much more time for gazing, learning, and reflecting than one would expect to spend on the same size pages of only text. The text, while brief, is nonetheless direct, easily understood, and leaves enough questions unanswered that children will be stimulated to look further into the animals which interest them most, whether online or via other books. Be sure to check out the other books available in this same series as well.

A Purchase You Will Not Regret
Can't say enough good things about the 3-D Theater books. My grandson, almost 5, has 3 of the 4, and the 4th one is hidden in the closet and will be put under the Christmas tree. He loves these books, and I do too. I bought him his first one - 3-D Rainforest - when he was two. They are sturdy. so all these years later, it still looks pretty new, and we still have fun going through it. The illustrations are beautiful in all of them and will appeal to children long before they can read, but there's also lots of information about each of the animals which is presented in interesting ways. Have to say, that I have learned a lot from these books along with my grandson. We both love them.

Captures even a young child's imagination.
Gorgeous book. Too old for my 31/2 year old, but really got his attention. It's good to get then interested in books.

Great visuals, one minor flaw
This book is hefty, with great colorful pop-outs and information about animals around the world in different environments. I bought it for my cousins (ages 3 & 5) who are too young to read it themselves but they seemed to like it.The one flaw I could see from paging through it: invertebrates are called "minibeasts." What the heck? The rest of this book isn't afraid of rather scientific things for kids my cousins' age to think about, but "minibeasts"? Isn't that talking down to them?Just make sure you clarify for your kids/cousins/nieces/nephews/grandchildren, and call them invertebrates, not minibeasts. Then it's worthy of 5 stars.

Great Product
Very colorful, pictures vibrant and the descriptions of the animals are short but informative. This helps the little ones retain key information. My 4 year old was so excited he took it to school to share with his friends. The teacher said she had to read it three times as all the kids loved it.
