This says 24" wide but it is actually 26" wide and the matress that i got that goes to this is too small. Why?..

26" should likely be the outside dimensions - i bought a 24" wide mattress that fits perfectly - leaves an inch or so around the edges so that you can take in/out - not for tiny ones, but perfectly safe for our 16 mo old

for the next portable play yard I need a pad or cushion for inside as it is very hard and no cushioning . Please send link to the one that fits ? Thx

I don't have an answer I use mine for my Yorkie puppy not a baby. Google baby playpen mats and I am sure many choices will come up.
