I went to dog food advisor to search out a five star food that is affordable and easy to obtain at local stores and decided to try this. I prefer giving my 10 lb poodle turkey formulas and this was right up my alley. The size of the kibble impressed me. Every quality, grain free brand I've tried has been made for bigger dogs and the kibble was large for my poodles little mouth. This is tiny enough for her to eat in comfort but she still must chew it. My dog seems to love it and I've noticed she is a little bit leaner, since she was topping out at 10 lbs. She's a low energy, fearful puppy mill rescue and getting her active is a challenge. This product, combined with a wet food that is limited ingredient, seems to be the best combination for helping her keep her girlish figure. The price point works for me and it's by far the best value for my dollar when it comes to excellent pet food. It's sold in 4 local stores in my neighborhood, so if I run out and don't have time to order more on Amazon, I can run to the store and pick up a bag. My previous food was only sold online and was a hassle to get. Finally, let's talk about Number 2s. As a pet parent, I know that the first sign of trouble with a dog's health is the condition of their number 2. Since they cannot talk and tell us they have tummy aches and often hide symptoms, this is our early warning system. After about a week adjustment period, mixing her old and new food together to wean her off the old, her system calmed down and the food is 5 star quality coming out as well as going in. (Hey, let's not pretend it's not important). My one concern is the fact that Wellness has had recalls recently. It doesn't effect this review, but I knew going in that Wellness has had a few recalls, so I make sure to keep the kibble in it's original bag so I know the date and lot number and also receipts, in case of a recall. I subscribed to recall alerts at dog food advisor as well, just to be safe. All in all I am very happy with this product.

I would not have believed that a dog food could make this much difference. My small dog who is ten years old was slowly walking around. Her eyes were weeping and I would have to clean her eyes almost every day. I bought this Wellness food on a whim and I am exceeding glad I did. My little dog no longer has weepy eyes. She’s lost a little weight I think and she plays like a dog half her age. Now, instead of walking slowly, she runs everywhere. And she loves this food, gobbles it down, no more mixing in canned food to get her to eat.

I've been using Wellness Core For My my two dogs. For about 6 years now. This food is top-notch. Are two small dogs one a miniature pinscher the other one is a Miniature Pinscher Chihuahua. Coats are always extremely shiny. When I first started using Wellness I noticed a major difference in in having no more dandruff or dry skin. It seem like some of their allergies went away. Understanding that green is not a good thing for dogs. Paying the extra money for a quality food is definitely worth it. So you are what you eat and the same thing goes for dogs. Cheap dog food is not worth it why not feed your dog the best. I'm sure there are other brands that are comparable to Wellness that are good quality. But I've chosen to stick with Wellness dog foods. If you want to treat your dog well buy them quality food. If there's other dog food around if I go visit someone and they have crap food my dogs won't even look at it. I was get your dog quality ingredients and that's why I stick with Wellness all these years. The food is really small bites for the smaller dogs which is important. I would definitely recommend this product and everyone I'd see I always tell him to stop feeding their dog crap food. Do you eat crappy food why would you feed your dog crappy food.

Dogs have been eating this for a long time. They love it and always come running to the food bowl like any good dog. I saw a lot of negative reviews about mold in the pellets, but i've been ordering this food online and buying it in stores for at least 10 years. I've never once seen a piece of mold in the bag. I even leave the bags open to the air and I live by the ocean and still no mold. The only problem i've had is with ants. They eat my damn cereal and cookies and the dog food of course. But this is not a negative thing, in fact even the ants dig the recipe. I think as far as ingredients go, this food really adds the needed nutrition and doesn't use chicken byproducts. If dogs don't like it, it might be because it is literally too healthy. I remember sitting in a pet food store about 10 years ago reading every single label for the best ingredients. None even came close to what wellness offered. The omega 3s are good for the skin and coat, and brain health. And the vitamins keep my dog happy and healthy. No diarrhea, just don't feed your dogs wet food, and make sure they don't get into the trash or anything they're not supposed to.

I purchase this food for my two chihuahuas. One of my girls is about 4 and a half pounds and the other is about 6 pounds. This food is nice and small, triangular and is easy for them to eat. It doesn't make them choke as their previous brand would tend to do. The reason I decided to try this particular food is because I was having an issue with one of my girls and this food came highly recommended. My 3 year old chihuahua was having an issue that caused her to vomit repeatedly once per month. I worked with her vet for 2 years trying to figure out what was causing it. She was already eating a natural brand food-Nutro, small breed, which they loved. As a last resort, I decided (with her doctor's support) to try her on a grain free food. I did as he recommended and mixed 10% of Wellness Core with 90% of their regular dog food, and each day working my way up to 100% of the new food. And, well, they loved it so much that they picked out the Wellness Core and stopped eating their regular food! I'm happy to say that my 3 year old has also stopped vomiting (since November). I'm sold! It's a win-win so I can highly recommend it.

Our Fox terrier absolutely loved this mix, she would race to the bowl when it was time to eat. I highly recommend I would mix with warm water for a little gravy for her and she would take off!

My dog has been eating this food for 12 years now. He has been pretty healthy so I think it is a good fit for him. Thought of changing food as he is a senior but the vet says there is no reason to change as long as he is doing well. I like the small triangular pieces as I feel it helps with keeping plaque off his teeth. I will keep using it.

I have a chihuahua (5 yrs old) and it's important for me to feed him good quality food that he enjoys, while also at a reasonable price. This product checks all boxes.
