Work perfectly fine as a replacement of my old motor A.O. SMITH, really quiet

Motor came undamaged, couple of YouTube videos and it was a straightforward process of swapping out the old one with the new. Don't forget to buy a seal kit and teflon lubricant. Work great and just as quiet as the original 1 1/2 hp Super Pump motor.

I bought this as a replacement motor for my Hayward filter pump. Unfortunately, that was nearly 12 months ago; my old, worn-out motor managed to limp through the rest of last swimming season, so this sat in the box until now. I know I can only blame myself for not opening the package as soon as it arrived, but honestly, I shouldn't have to worry about manufacturing defects like this. When I finally opened the box to install it, I discovered that the holes which should have been threaded were completely smooth and untapped. The Amazon description clearly states it comes threaded for a simple, seamless swap, and even the product images explicitly show threaded bolt holes. I reached out to the seller through their website to see if they could help, but I did not yet received a response. Because I needed to get the pool up and running, I took matters into my own hands, bought a 3/8 x 16 tap, and tapped the holes myself to make it work. Funnily enough, after looking back at the reviews, I noticed another buyer ran into the exact same issue—I just didn't see their review until 11 months too late! Outside of that major headache, we are now three days into running the filter and everything seems to be working okay. It runs fine, but if you buy this, open the box immediately and verify the bolt holes are actually threaded so you don't get stuck doing unexpected machine work!

This was a straight-up simple replacement for the original pump motor. The gaskets fit great and this motor got my pump back online in less than an hour for 1/4 the price of a new pump.

Its fine for the job it has to do. I wouldn't have purchased if i knew what uprated meant so only 4 stars.

Perfect (and cheaper) replacement for the Hayward pump. It bolted right up and has been working away ever since. This saved me a bunch of money over the OEM replacement (or god forbid a whole new pump) I would buy again. (hopefully I won't have to)

Bought in March 2016. Just died today May 2026. Buying another. Outlived the original motor that came with the pump by 4 years

Works great, easy to install. Also, my pool heater now fires up without a small explosion which is a bonus. Didn't expect that!

Do not buy from this seller. Standard warranty on a motor like this is 1 year. My return window was only 2 months! Motor worked fine until a few weeks ago and then it stopped. Contacted the seller only to be told there is no warranty. Pay the extra money and buy from someone reputable that will honor the standard 1 year warranty. I repeat. DO NOT BUY from this seller. They don’t stand behind the products they sell. Gave it one star because I couldn’t leave it blank. I much rather had given it no stars. A motor like this should have lasted me at least 5 seasons in my pool. $400 and it didn’t even last one.
