Snug at the arch area
They are not slip on, the velcro strap requires me to sit down to put them on. I wish I would have ordered a size larger than recommended, because they are very snug. But they make nice house shoes. Edit: I discovered that I could loosen the elastic straps, which relieved the tight fit. Much more comfortable.

Great Color and Fit
I call these Fred Flintstone shoes. After considerable research, this brand came up in the top 5 on 4 different websites and consumer reports. I have struggled with walking shoes for 40 years because I have what is called flat feet. For the past 7 years, I've been wearing Good Feet arch supports and Brooks walking shoes, a very expensive annual investment. At age 70, 5'6", 115 lbs., I go barefoot at home all day -- maybe I need to go barefoot on my walks. I purchased the beige size 8. The shoe has firm upper foot support. Slip on is great with the Velcro strap. It feels snug and not flimsy. Very comfortable. Day 1 - I walk 4 miles a day on a black top trail. At first, it seemed I could feel every bone in my foot, so I imagined I was getting a long overdue massage. My balance was much better, no wobble. I felt taller and wasn't leaning forward. My thighs and butt got a much better workout than usual. My shins didn't hurt. My speed was very consistent. My feet were not sweaty or swollen when I finished. My plan is to test these for 30 days (wearing exclusively) and come back to update the review. I am surprisingly pleased with the first day. I do wish they made them in brown. And I wonder why the lace holder is black and not the color of the shoe.

Comfy and cute
Like these - cute and very comfy - plus I got the green which is a nice not too bright forest green so goes with everything you might wear with them. Seem nicely made, will see how they hold up. I would say true to size, amd nice toe room.

Comfortable, "grippy", and working well for strength training footwear
I only give 5 stars when I really feel like I got some bang for my buck. So, while I am happy with these shoes... I feel the price was fair when I bought them on sale (Amazon deal days), but to get the "fair" price (rather than spend way more than they were worth (in my opinion)... I was very limited in color/size choice (other colors were not on sale). So, I got stuck with purple. lol It doesn't bother me too much, because I only wear them at home - I purchased them for strength training. I am mid 50s, so I have to admit that my sense of "style" is not up-to-date (lol), so these shoes are ugly to me - make me look like a duck. lol But I knew that going into the purchase. The wider toe area is why I wanted them - for stability when lifting, without restricting the bend and movement of my feet. I also needed a good "grippy" sole. I've been using these in my carpeted workout room about twice a week for a couple of months now, and there was no break in time - they are functioning just as I'd hoped and I'm happy with my purchase. They are easy to put on. I do wear socks with my barefoot shoes (I know, I'm weird lol) and I have left the insert in it (I have high arches, so I have to have something). They are lightweight. I've worn them briefly on wood and tile floors when I've had to leave the carpet to answer a phone call - traction (at least for just walking) seems good on those surfaces too. I, personally, would not be able to wear these hiking or running, as I want more protection for hiking and more cushion for running, but as a lifting shoe, these are serving their purpose better than anything I've ever tried. They also aren't overly hot. I find them to be comfortable (shoes during lifting used to bother me so much that I'd do it in socks or barefoot). Very comfortable for someone like me that really doesn't like shoes.

Believe The Hype
I bought the black pair with the gum sole. I typically wear women’s size 9 US or Euro 40. The size 9 - 9.5 fits perfectly. Very attractive shoes, in my opinion. I have some foot issues and hoped these would be comfortable for lots of walking, exercise and daily wear. Right out of the packaging, they’ve been incredibly comfortable. My toes have so much room to be themselves, it’s almost like not wearing shoes. Nothing is rubbing or feels confining. The shoe upper has stretch and seems quite breathable so far. The zero gravity low heel takes pressure off my toes and the ball of my feet. They’re lightweight and the tread is nice, grippy and flexible, so that should be good for trails, as well as daily wear. As a person with a poorly healed broken toe and small toes that are prone to corns, these feel like magic. While they feel like decent quality, I’m not sure how long to expect them to last. When you pay such a low price, you can’t be too optimistic, but we’ll see what happens! It’s my first minimalist shoe and I think I’m hooked. If these fall apart too quickly, I’ll feel confident finding a sturdier pair from another maker and pay for the quality next time. But I hope these hold up because I absolutely love them. If they lasted a year, I’d be happy (at this price) to replace them yearly. If it’s a few months, I’ll find a better made option.

Ugly clod-hopper looking shoes
Those is the ugliest shoe I have ever worn. But it is also comfortable and my balance is much better while wearing it. I will probably keep these shoes because the functionality is good. But I won't buy another pair.

BUY BUY BUY
These are extremely comfortable & plenty of room in the toe box, along with being lightweight. They are not waterproof but do dry fairly quickly. They will not last for 2000 miles but I like the comfort and for the price are a great deal. For barefoot shoes they are fairly stylish.

Shoes wore out in a month and no company contact
Within about a month the inner lining above the big toe tore in the left shoe. Within a short time after, less than 2 months the inner lining tore in the same place in the right shoe and the outer material is separating from the sole. I'm not a big Amazon shopper and life is too busy for me to come back to the computer to check to see when I ordered something to see if it is still within the window to return, so of course I've missed that. I would say I've worn these with average wear. I do a fair amount of walking, but I'm not hiking mountains or anything like that. This is super disappointing because these shoes were very comfortable, even as my first pair of "barefoot" shoes and I felt I was walking better, more upright. Its also quite disappointing that if you go to the company's website, there is no way to contact them. I will be checking for that before making future online purchases and I will not be making additional purchases or recommending WHITIN. I had originally planned to try them myself and then purchase for my husband and son if they worked out. Its only because I'm not a huge online shopper that kept me from getting online and already making additional purchases since they were so comfortable, so this company will lose out. It looks like enough people like them, or submitted a review before the shoes broke/tore, that they probably won't miss my contribution to their profits though. The pictures are of the same tear, one zoomed out so you can see where on the shoe it is, the other zoomed in. I can't get pictures of the inside tears since its in the toe box, but I can feel them with every step. As you can see, minus some dust, they otherwise look to be in good condition, indicating I'm not exposing them in outrageous conditions.

Loving it, highly recommended
I wear it while doing home workouts, my floors are so slippery so having this helps a lot. I must say it's well made, very comfortable too. Highly recommended
