Thank God I found this and a good Jerry can
Thank you to our wonderful government for making it nearly impossible to find a gas can that is actually usable. As you can guess, and quite probably why you are looking at this review now, I was looking for a usable gas can. You can no longer get a cheap plastic gas can that doesn't have a child proof spout which makes it pretty much unusable for lawn equipment, and I wouldn't even use one of these for my car. This spout saved the day when used in conjunction with a Wavian USA JC0020KVS Green Authentic NATO Jerry Fuel Can and Spout System (20 Liter). The Jerry can comes with a Child proof spout, but you can take that spout off and use this one which is just a plain old flexible spout. I didn't want to spend this much, but this is the way I had to go to get around what our government did in its infinite wisdom. This spout does not fit the plastic spout holder riveted to the Jerry can. But this spout comes with a replacement plastic holder. I have not done this yet, and may not because I find it convenient just leaving them next to each other in the garage, but you can drill out the rivet and then using a small bolt, you can mount the plastic holder onto the can. Note: using the Jerry can and this spout, I have not spilled any gas, no leaks, not even a gas smell in the car when bringing a newly filled can back home from the gas station. Not even my old plastic can before the child proof laws were passed worked this well. When I filled my old can, I had to keep it in the trunk or drive with the windows open. The Jerry can is air and liquid tight. However, as the seasons changes, I would suggest periodically popping it open to equalize the air pressure inside the can.

Fits real NATO spec (German Heer) cans perfectly
Having two legitimate German NATO Jerry cans I bought decades ago from a surplus store, it's been super frustrating trying to make the knock off spouts work. The cheap one I got at the time literally fell apart from use, another I bought from AMZ has a weird breather tube that is too proud to fit a real Jerry can. The fixed spout pair I found on AMZ seal decently, but I have to hold the cans in a weird position to clear the taillight on my old Jeep. This seems to match the original specifications perfectly, and I was reminded of that as I emptied out the Summer fuel into my old Jeep a month ago.

Fixes gov idiocracy
The untold amount of fuel I've spilt onto myself and the ground because of the government regulations on gas cans and spouts is enraging. Even more so after using this spout which works absolutely amazingly and is WWII technology. It can actually get the gas directly into the fuel tank, it has very fast flow, and no gas spilt once you understand one point. Fuel will leak out the air releaf intake if you tip the spout completely vertical. Just don't do that as there is no need to. All the fuel will come out without using such an extreme angle. Ensure the air hole is always facing more up than sideways and you won't have any leakage.

A Jerry Can Upgrade Worth Investing In!
I find the Valpro NATO, long-nose flexible Jerry Can Spout, far superior to other plastic spouts. If you have a new Wavian NATO Jerry Can, the longer air vent tube of the Valpro spout interferes with the plastic filter in the new Wavian NATO Jerry Cans. This can be remedied by removing the plastic filter, or cutting a rectangle notch in the plastic filter to accommodate the longer air vent tube. I also appreciate the plastic mounting bracket for the spout. I riveted it to the interior of my Suburban near the back doors for easy access. A Velcro tab around the bracket and spout makes sure the spout is always there when I need it. VERY handy! When it comes time to use a NATO Jerry Can, nothing beats the long flexible Valpro spout. Not only does the Valpro spout make it easier to use a full, heavy, and often times awkward Jerry Can, but being easier means you are less likely to waste precious gas spilling it on the vehicle or ground. My Wavian NATO Jerry Can came with a plastic spout I'll never use now that I have the Valpro NATO Long-Nose Flexible Spout! It is an investment with real practical value that increases every time you use it. - Will Ghormley

Leaks heavily, can't replace the gasket it comes with with the Wavian Gasket. NOT recommended.
This is one of those things you only use when you need it, which shouldn't be often. I got this in Oct 2023 for use with my Wavian gas can for emergencies, and tried to use it today, Jul 2025. Fortunately, I just wanted to empty my spare fuel can, so I was already at a gas station. Fuel spilled everywhere but into the tank. I was lucky to find out that this spout doesn't work with my Wavian fuel can at a time that I didn't need it, instead while off road, miles from pavement. Now I need to figure out how to get the fuel from the can into the tank. I'll have to try another spout, and would absolutely not recommend this one. One other thing: The gasket that comes with this spout is a proprietary size, so you can't even replace it with a Wavian gasket to try to get a working seal. This is not only a useless spout for the Wavian can, it can leave you stranded if you are counting on being able to use the spare fuel you are carrying. Glad I found out when I did. NOT recommended.

Well designed flex nozzle
I have several of the Wavian 5.3L gas cans, While the gas cans themselves are excellent, the supplied safety nozzles don’t work with my particular vehicle. I bought this flex nozzle and I’ve been immensely satisfied with its performance, so much so that has completely replaced the other nozzles if I had a complaint at all, it’s that they don’t make it in red, which is the color of my gas cans. No leaks, dribbles or drips, flow rate is terrific.

Allows me to fill Ford EasyFuel Ranger, and fast to boot.
This was a bit pricey, but is well made. I could not get the OEM Wavian spout to work with Ford EasyFuel. It's too tight and the fuel comes out around the slots instead of the spout tip so it just over flows. This spout is slight smaller in diameter but long enough to open the EasyFuel. It's stiff, but just in a good way, it's offers just enough resistance when inserted and just enough flexibility that I'm not concerned with breaking something if I lose my grip on the can. And it appears to fill WAY faster than the OEM spout, didn't spill a drop in my test. Besides, how often to you get to buy something from Latvia?

Fits GELG, no leaks if you cover air hole when starting to pour
Initially I was going to return the nozzle/spout because it leaked like a sieve. I soon realized it was pouring out of vent hole when I started pouring into my zero turn’s tank. I thought about it for a while (some might say I obsessed) and realized if I initially cover the vent hole when I start, then release when vacuum builds inside the can, it’ll begin to draw in air rather than pour out fuel. The spout is expensive, but infinitely better than the nozzles/spouts that came with the cans. This spout doesn’t leak and because it’s flexible, it’s easy to guide and get it placed properly before pouring. I now can use my GELG Jerry cans without spilling a drop!
