Doesn't seal crack in kiln floor or top.

Mixed according to directions, put on several layers on Kiln floor and lid .. Didn't cover cracks, cracks came through?? WHen I tried to patch a large piece (following directions again) after it dried for a couple of days , the patch fell out (lid).
