As with some of the other reviews, I am Amazed at this little unit. I recently started working from home part time, have a small space and needed what I thought would be impossible to find...but I did find it!. This has the am / fm radio and they play perfect due to the mega long antenna . The blue tooth is what I mainly wanted this for and it works flawlessly BUT , this amazing part is the sound. I'm a quality loving sound nut and don't waste my time listening to tinny, crappy sound systems. This sounds great for its little size. It actually has bass response you can feel in it. For $22 I doubt you could find anything better. The only con on this, as others have said as well, as it falls over easy. Too bad they didn't come up with some kind of tiny stand it could sit on, it couldn't add that much to the cost of building.

Number 1: Amazon shipped an open box unit which I didn't want. Number 2: I tested the unit. The sound is really amazing for the J-288. I had to turn down the volume in my office. It's the best feature besides multi-input and manually entering radio station instead of seeking. This unit didn't work for me because I bought it for the FM radio and antenna. The FM tuner works pretty well EXCEPT for my station which required full extension on the antenna. Without full extension the station was mostly static. Similar to other reviews the unit will not stand up firmly when the antenna is fully extended. The second issue was preset stations. This unit DOES NOT ALLOW manually setting stations. The only way to preset is to scan for all available channels. My channel is in the upper band so it's inconvenient to press every preset to find your station instead of being able to set it to PRESET 1.

It's super small, and yet delivers very good well rounded sound for its size. It has digital tuning, so it's spot on. With a simple press of the power button, my favorite FM public radio station comes right on! The antenna is so enormous for the radio's relative size, the radio may not want to stand up, but it sounds perfectly good laying down! Bluetooth works quite well, too. The lithium battery is rechargeable. I haven't tried any other functions or headphone jack. I love that the volume adjustment is a simple dial for a very quick adjustment! I also love that all the buttons are well placed for optimal functionality. I definitely recommend this as a great personal portable radio. UPDATE: Not only does this little guy easily fall over when stood up, it likes to vibrate itself right off the countertop from its laid-down position, and do a destructive dive to the floor! If the surface is hard, it'll move itself. I've had the plastic speaker covers fall off (not broken, and easily re-attachable), and broke the antenna!! Now my antenna is without its knob end, and I have to be careful not to collapse it in a manner that makes it very difficult to pull back out. But IT STILL WORKS! Be sure to put it onto something that will NOT allow it to vibrate migrate or fall over! UPDATE #2: Yet another segment of the antenna has broken off, but it still works. Lately, though the recharging function has been problematic. I don't know if it's the charging port on the radio or the plug, etc., but it doesn't want to engage right. I've had to wrap the cord around the radio to slightly force the plug into the port at an angle to engage. Hmm... I still stand by my high rating, though, as I have been abusive as the radio's owner.

I've had this radio for exactly one year, I purchased it to replace the radio in one of my work trucks that died and would cost hundreds to replace. I wanted FM and bluetooth for cheap and this device had it. I added some velcro the back and dashboard and slap this lil guy on there. Works great for what I got it for. What I didn't expect was that it would out perform some name brand portable bluetooth speakers on the jobsites. We frequently bring this device out of the truck and into the field, it's sat on or hung from everything from boomlift control panels, table saws, tree branches, or piles of dirt. It's taken adventures on motorcycles, kayaks, and paddleboards. It's been dropped, kicked, hit, left in the rain, spent a Texas summer strapped to a hot dashboard and only now, after exactly one year, have I gone on the hunt for a new battery as this one is starting to swell and showing a shorter charge hold time. Looks like a replacement 2 pack will cost about $8 You won't get booming bass but the sound is clear, stereo, and picks up a long range of reception. The FM reception does lower while charging but the power cable comes with a 3.5mm plug and for whatever reason we discovered that if using it while charging in the truck, plugging the 3.5mm into the truck's aux cuts much of the static. Never any static on bluetooth and the range is great. Very glad I went with this cheapo last year instead of spending $100+ on a name brand bluetooth speaker with FM with a battery you can't replace.

I ordered my first Prunus radio last December I believe. The sound quality quality was excellent.. My biggest complaint about Prunus is that they have not addressed the fact that these radios are so thin at their base that they constantly TIP OVER. And these tiny rubber nibs on the bottom of the first unit of the first model cause it to tip over Constantly. Both Prunus radios I’ve had to lean up against something heavy to keep them from tipping.. Why is it that not one review that I looked at mentioned this fact? The first model I ordered was larger and had better sound quality. I ordered the smaller one thinking that it would not have nubs and would be flat- maybe a half inch wide at base and would sit better. Wrong. We have no room for the electrical product discards created by greedy companies trying to ensure repeat sales.Nor For engineers to design flaws into the product that make it fail despite the good quality of the rest of the items. since about 2009, Companies have been making products to break making everything really well and then taking one small thing a well designed product that ruins the product within a year and a half LESS, Forming mountains of waste On a planet with no room to put any more waste whatsoever. Stop This particular planned obsolescence strategy Contributes to large amounts of waste. If you go back even 25 years products would last between five and 25 to 50 years these are electronic products while of sudden is something not working.? smallest nail on my hand period. As far as I’m concerned, companies that design products to fail should be penalized by the government and taxed for adding this amount of garbage to our dying landfills. these types of mistakes are the worst again every year if you have to. If you get here can Imistake I’ve ever seen in engineering in my life. I ended up with a larger model only because The recommended model was not available. The sound is much better in a larger unit than the one I just ordered. The small transistor and I just ordered that just came in it’s just not coming in is clear and it’s constantly tipping over because it’s less than an inch wide at the base is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. If I could do one thing to help this planet, It would be to force every engineer who designed any product, bottle,, nozzle, electrical equipment thathas in each case One tiny thing wrong with it that destroys the product within a year for the greedy companies that want you to come back and come back and come back and use and use and use and threw away and threw away and throw away. These engineers should be forced do use these products in their daily work and in their homes for the next five years after they create them and I guarantee you things will not be getting thrown out within the first year this particular community needs to get off his butt and stop wasting money product and contributing mounds and mounds To our planet where we have no room to put it. They are show responsible for the amount of waste in this country and around the world. We areor anything that we use daily and force them to use this product that they designed without concern for function and more concerned with the way it looks and make them use it for the next five years every day so they know what kind of problems they’re causing people who don’t have the time to be messing around with the stupid design flaws. I could do one thing and have it work I would have every engineer be forced to use what they design every single day for the next five years so that they don’t make these dumb design mistakes-you’re wasting my time and my money.

This is what Sony should have done as a modern day Walkman - but they seem to have missed the mark, once again. Instead, this company did it, with full set of features that I really wanted: memory card, radio (with external antenna!), headphones connector, removable battery - and a sleep timer! What's more, it works pretty darn well, and looks great, too - there's that feel of quality, that I didn't expect from inexpensive but quite complex product from unknown to me company. Radio reception is very good, battery seems to last long, controls are easy to use. Obviously, sound quality is not what you can hear from likes of decent shelf systems, but interestingly feels better than that of many traditional small or compact boomboxes, and is definitely competitive with that of compact bluetooth speakers. Sound level range is good enough for at least medium sized rooms and for outdoor listening - say, when I work on my car. Overall, at this price it's basically an outrageous steal, I just hope it'll work well for a long time.

Great little radio, but it does not stand on it's own. It falls over every single time.

I bought this radio in November and absolutely loved it, it’s a brilliant little radio with a decent battery life. A couple of days my radio stopped charging I contacted seller and they quickly sent me out a replacement which I received in very quick time, I received excellent customer service and very quick response and I will definitely be buying from them again and I highly recommend seller

I had their smaller model radio L-088AM with mp3 for about 1.5 yr and still works fine. I needed slightly bigger sound, so got this baby. Totally worth it. Satisfied with quality and ease of operation. All working as expected and described. Makers know their stuff !! It even remembers the position of the last mp3 song and the last mode perfectly. Buttons are built to last. Suggestion to manufacture: Bass could be improved. Next time please give us bass and treble buttons and more powerful battery. You can reduce the size of fonts in display and give us a simple clock.
