Fiberglass Tub Repair Kit (Color Match), 3.7oz Fiberglass Shower, Porcelain Sink and Acrylic Bathtub Repair Kit, Quick to Fix Cracks, Chips, Dents, Holes on Bath Tub & Toilet, Almond/Biscuit/Bone

I used this product to fill 6 holes and 2 small nicks in my old acrylic bathtub after removing an old shower door frame. Overall this worked great, the spots are not noticeable from a distance and are only slightly noticeable up-close because I wasn’t able to match the color perfectly since the tub has discolored over the years. But it looks so much amazingly better than it did with the holes or with the shower frame. The only downsides to the kit were 1) I ran out of sandpaper and had to go buy some more, so be prepared if you have difficult or a lot of holes that you may need additional sandpaper (which was easy to get from a home improvement store), and 2) the tool provided for scraping was a bit hard to use to fill holes and evenly scrape the mix across the hole being fixed. I got it pretty close and then put masking tape over top and smoothed the mix out under the tape, and then left the tape on until it was dry for a smoother finish. Also, I’d like to reiterate what another reviewer said - a little color goes a long way. I didn’t add much and the color was already too intense so it took a bit to get it right. So don’t mix all of the A and B compounds together right away in case you need to add more later to lighten your color.

I think this is good for filling chips and cracks but you Must use it sparingly and very thin layers. It is difficult to sand because does get very hard and if it’s thick it will take some time. It’s close to color when mixed but there is no way to get it exact color. I wish it was already the color needed since i feel i wasted a lot of it as it hardens fairly quickly. Does the trick if you are experienced with it. .

I'm very happy with this product's performance and ease of use, but in order to get a color match for my old 1970's almond tub, I had to purchase this kit, which includes yellow, in addition to the HomeTinker kit, which includes a pinkish brown. I mixed a little yellow and pinkish brown, and got an excellent match for the pale yellowish almond color of my tub. So my only complaint for this product, and also for the Home Tinker product, is that it would be nice if they included both the yellow and the pinkish brown, along with the included black. Even with having to buy two different kits to get the color I needed, I'm just glad there is such a product, that does such a great job without noxious fumes! It's wonderful! And here's a great tip for smoothing it! I have a little rubber or silicone squeegee from a Skinomi screen protector kit, and it was perfect because it's flexible. It worked much better than the hard plastic putty knife, and allowed me to smooth rounded edges and corners. It came out great! Of course, there's still some sanding, but not as much.

This feels more like a repair kit you'd create for people before you perfected it. If you’re not already an artist, good luck applying this without some pretty big complications. My biggest gripe would probably be there are no practical tools included, and the mix is so crazy thick and sticky it’s VERY HARD to work with. CONS: ===== • No way to equally measure Part A & Part B (no measuring tools of any kind) • No brush or practical applicator included • The mix is like thick, gummy, extremely sticky toothpaste. VERY difficult to apply (with my own brush) • Small Yellow and Black color containers of paint are provided to try and get your final color closer (than pure white), but instructions say to use a tiny drop. The problem is the paint is also the constancy of thick paste, so getting one drop is impossible. • Included sandpaper is extremely fine and gums up quickly. Have some other grits on hand • Extremely messy since mix is very thick and sticky. • Applying mixture to fine areas is difficult as the mixture is so sticky, one pass with a brush can lay down 75% of what you need, but you’ll find the next brush stroke will remove some of what you previously applied. Slightly maddening. PROS: ===== • Certainly better than NOT doing anything • Appears to more-or-less work. WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: ===== • Include some proper application tools • Brushes • Scooped Measuring devices • 2-3 different grit sand paper • Better instructions • Possibly a better formula and better thought out way to deal with this insanely sticky substance.

I ordered this product to fill some holes in my shower tiles, The first order I received had the bonding bottles overflowing and I could not get them open, So I returned it for a replacement, thinking I could do this and that it looked to be a fast fix. However when I received the seconds package, it looked similar to the first one I received having overflows in the bonding bottles but not so much that I could not open them, I started step by step and laid everything out. When I tried to mix the two bottles Part A and Par B Together I noticed that in the stepped pictures they were using a spoon in step 1 and 2 rather than the enclosed tool to combine them so I got a spoon and mixed the two parts together. Also when I started to mix the color agents the little plastic jars were very tiny and also in the mixing step 2 they show using a small spoon to take out the color agents , not to be deterred I got out my tiny spoons and began to transfer the color agent over into the mixed bonding agents. There was no way I could derive a light grey color as there were not enough orange color mix to get anything but a lighter black color. At that point I had to give it up as putting black putty on my grey bathroom tiles wasn't going to work, so I threw in the towel. Perhaps this could work on a white surface or something darker. Beware you may not have all the tools to get the colors out of their containers and that you might have difficulty mixing Part A and Part B without a spoon and It's very messy and pair of plastic gloves enclosed will likely not make it through the process as mine tore up just getting the lids off Part A and Part B

Used this to fill a crack in my hot tub. Getting the color to match was harder to do than expected, resulting in some waste. Other than that it is fairly easy to use. If you follow the online tutorial your fix will turn out great. I had a large crack that needed some additional buffing to blend, but is not noticeable except for the slight color difference. You would have to know where to look to find the repair. My only additions to the product would be a warning for an inexperienced user to drill a small hole at the end(s) of a crack to help prevent it from cracking further, and a finer grit sand paper added to the kit. I used a 3000 grit to finish sanding before a final buff.

Very good product

I had tried another kit in the past but it peeled off, looked like a fruit roll up. Possibly I hadn't sanded the area well enough. Per the pictures, I used an electric Sander with 100grit paper this time and sanded an area larger than the area to make sure it would stick. The putty is thick and when being applied it does feel sticky, so it looked promising. The first batch I only fixed the cracked area, (seen in the pictures where the ruler is present). 24hours later I filled the tub and no leaks. After the first shower, the basement was all wet again. Convinced it may have been the other hair line cracks on the bottom or around the drain hole I got another kit and sealed anything that looked like a crack (pictures show the wavy lines and around drain hole. Everything was now treated. I liked this product because it yields a large amount and it allows about 30mins of time to apply it. I used a brush and was not concerned with color or texture. Just wanted water to stop leaking through floor. After all this, a lot of water still dripped through. Turns out the original crack ripped through the treatment area. I purposely put a thick coat over the area, and the product dried pretty hard so I thought it worked but it did not. So... It's great to seal hairline cracks in areas that won't move much. Probably good for chips as well. But don't buy if you are trying to fix a crack in an area that is not supported below which is what happened with my badly designed tub. This is a mortar-less tub, it came with a base but the base doesn't provide support where it turns upwards. This is where it cracks from the weight of people. Therefore it did not work for me, it said it repairs cracks. I was hoping the product would stretch but it does not. I gave it 2 starts because 1 I like the quantify, the finished look, the accessories, etc.. Another because it works for non cracks but not for cracks that will move. The picture with the fork shows size of the tubs. I thought they were bigger. They are both half full. I think there's enough product for most people, so I like that.

Worked well

I used it to repair minor cracks in my floor tiles. Mixture was easy to work with, and it was easy to achieve a matching tile colour (my tiles were greige).

This save my sink . I did not want to replace it . I had a hole and this did the trick. It is a bit off color but i can deal with it

Filled a hole in a sink where a new faucet was to be installed. The hole was originally for the drain handle. Had to support the fix with a small board underneath the spot. Also a curved restraint to keep the repair from running away. Took several small applications to build up the patch. Most trouble was trying to match the color. Came very close one time, but could not replicate it very well after. However, the result was surprisingly good. Faucet installed and repair is hardly noticeable.
