Pleasantly surprised!
Very happy actually! I got this back in June (I've owned for four months now) and it's great! I put off buying it for weeks because I've seen several of the reviews were not so hot, and being a hobbyist on a budget, I didn't wanna waste $50 just to have to rebuy an actual Canon one later.Nonetheless I decided to give it a shot as I really wanted a grip for my T5i and I was impressed! Works great. The additional batteries were awesome. I'm glad it included a tray to swap the cameras batteries out and put in six AA batteries. I never really thought I'd use it as I'm not a photographer and dont go on all day shoots, taking thousands of photos or anything. However, one day before an event (I do marketing) I realized my charger was no longer plugged all the way in charging all night as I had believed (isn't that the worst when it happens with your phone?!) Turned out not to be a problem at all! I popped in some fresh AA batteries and went out to shoot some photos. A couple hours of use and they battery indicator hadn't even gone down a tick. The grip it's self has a very nice texture and feel and fits the camera perfectly. Doesn't look like a generic third party item, and secures very tightly to your camera body making one nice solid body (which depending on your lens size will stand!)Very happy with this product! Also I wasn't one of those people who got this item free or discounted for a review!

Wow! Fits my T3i like a glove and comes with 2 batteries!
I live in Southern California and pushed the 1-touch Order button on my phone at 10am. This package was sitting in my mailbox at 3pm the very next day! Amazing shipping speed!Power grip came in a brand new box and contained everything advertised. It looks like part of my T3i and the camera looks semi pro now. Love the added shutter button to take vertical photos as well as functionality buttons on the back. It's solid construction and seems like it will last for quite a while.I shoot a lot of video with my T3i and needed the extra battery power. I haven't seen how long I can shoot now, but I'm excited to find out! I still have the original battery as a spare and it's a nice touch to have the AA battery tray as a backup.Pro Tip: I had minor issues seating the new battery grip onto my T3i. I found that if you slightly tilt the grip to the battery side while gently pushing the camera onto the grip, it will match in better with the various hole openings. Dial it in and you're good to go! Now it fits nice and flush and is part of my camera.Highly recommend this inexpensive yet powerful addition to your Canon setup. You won't be disappointed in the quality and functionality. Big Mike's is a great seller!

The price is right
This unit is definitely worth the price tag. The included batteries are higher capacity (1750mAh) than my stock T3i batter (1200mAh), though not as high as some others available. Grip is comfortable and all of the buttons work when the switched on. It has a tripod mount on the bottom, though the raised profile of the camera might make it incompatible with some mounting options (for example, I have one of those sideways-U shaped caddies that won't fit the camera with the grip installed). I appreciate the ability to use AA's in a pinch and the ability to use 2 batteries at once is a godsend for those who do video, but I REALLY wish this unit had the capacity to plug into an external power source. That said, it is well worth the asking price and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Works great. Makes the camera easier to hold. Time lapse MUST
Bought this to extend my time lapses. With my T4i (Canon 650D) it functions great. I bought extra wasabi batteries and the included wall/car charger, and have already put it to use shooting astro-timelapses, as well as used it to shoot portraits and landscape photography. Really happy with the grip, and the feel.Does what I wanted it to do, and have no gripes other than it adds weight and bulk. But....that was to be expected.LOVE that I can bring the insert to use AA batteries if and when my other batteries are out of charge and I need more pics. I believe it requires 6 AA batteries. (Or 8.) But this option is great. Used this option on purpose one time through the batteries to see how many images I could get on the charge. Shot hundreds of long exposure, RAW images, and was able to shoot for hours. ~700-800 photos if I remember correctly.Like the ability to adjust settings.Love being able to shoot more comfortably in portrait mode.Plastic cover....waste of product and materials. Threw it away.Extra batteries...nice to have.Do I recommend. YES.

Great kit. Why pay more?
This is a great third-party battery grip at 1/4 of the price of the Canon-branded version. It has decent build quality and fits snugly. If it were built any more solidly, it might be unnecessarily heavy. The texture on the body matches my T4i's very closely. The buttons work well. The batteries also work well--much better than the stock ones. The kit comes with two battery trays. One tray holds 1 or 2 LP-E8 batteries. It will work even if you only insert one battery. The other one holds several AA's, which is extremely useful in case you run out of power at an inopportune time. As for charging, I highly recommend getting the PhotoPro Dual Charger for use with this grip kit. There's no sense buying this without upgrading to a dual charger. As compared with other versions, I just wish this one had a place to put the original battery lid from the camera.

Wait, this is not a Canon Grip?
ever try doing a timelapse with a single battery? yeah, this is a must have! construction feels solid for sure.the extra batteries are a great value, I would only use them for BACKUP though, they dont seem to keep their charge when not used for a week or two, so charge them up the night before youre going to use them, they seemed to last quite a long time, not as long as the canon battery thoughOnly down side, the battery life indicator doesnt seem to be accurate, Im not sure if the actual Canon brand one works better, just be ready to replace the batteries after a few hours of shooting video, as I had to one day in the sand, I never like exposing equipment to the elements, but sometimes its unavoidable
