There are few things worse than the stomach bug. This winter seemed especially harsh. My entire family ( extended included) got hit with this. My son, then daughter, then my wife. I knew I was on deck. I will preface this by saying I'm one of the biggest babies when it comes to throwing up. I hate it with a passion ( does anyone actually LIKE it?). My wife teases me ( makes fun of me) b/c of the violent, exorcism like sounds of my hurl. Sorry for the visual, just trying to set the stage here. So I know im certainly gonna get sick. I frantically search amazon for anything nausea related. Now this may sound selfish, because I didn't order it til after my family was sick, but to be fair, it all happened so fast. Luckily I had prime service . I knew I had about a 2 day incubation period before the attack would happen. A few days later, my little bottle of joy arrived, As I prepared for my inevitable illness, those next few days I did everything I could to avoid the bug. I carried around Lysol in a holster and whipped it out all around the house. I kept kisses to the wife and kids to forehead only. I drank so much green juice, i almost liked the taste of it.....ALMOST. It didn't matter. It was too late. I could do nothing to stop this awful, terrible virus. That night, I took an extra hot shower. I used mouthwash, twice. I knew I was only moments away. I unpacked my bottle of Emitrol and got it ready, like a solider loading his ammo before battle. I got into bed, and told my wife I loved her. I knew what was coming. A night full of chills, shivering, yet burning up. Constant struggle , whining like a child back and forth in bed in between trips to the bathroom. The horrific sounds of my excessively annoying throw up sound. A horrible night sleep for not only me, but my wife, mother of my 2 small children, and for tonight only, a 3rd-the biggest baby of them all... I'm not sure what happened next. I remember turning over and looking at the clock. It was 10:43pm EST (22:43 in military time ..I think ). The wave of nausea that hit me was fierce. I knew what i had to do. I went straight to the bathroom and began to vomit. I will spare u the details but it was brutal. It hit me like a ton of bricks. There would be no downtime, no breaks between the pain. I was on the floor shivering, begging God for mercy, promising I would go to church more. I am not strong enough to handle this!!! And I stopped for a moment to think. "Wait, is that my wife laughing?" Anyway, no time for self pity. I had to think and I had to think fast. I looked over and desperate for an answer, there appeared something strange, out of the corner of my eye. The Emitrol. My oasis. I quickly ran over, took a huge swig. I was convinced that it wouldn't work. That it was just too weak to contain this awful nausea I felt. The worst anyone has probably ever felt ( this is said with obvious embarrassment during my time of need). Literally within minutes, I felt a calm come across me. A stillness among the ocean of madness. It had worked. It really worked! I felt I must go back to bed quickly. While I still feel ok. I fell asleep..... I woke up at 6:43 the next day. I had only thrown up once. I did not feel nauseous, just tired and wiped out. Emetrol had saved me. It really saved me. I recommend having a bottle around in the house. It's safe for children as well. Next time I will not hesitate to give it to anyone in the family. Something that finally works to battle nausea!! Now, I can't speak for those pregnant mommy morning sickness feelings, but as long as your dr says it's ok, give it a shot! It could save you a lot of un-needed agony. ENJOY! ****Update 4/9/15 Well, its been a little over a year since this review, and I got hit by the bug again on Tuesday, after my 2 kids and my wife got it. Again, I knew it was coming. My sister borrowed the Emetrol, so I asked her to bring it over on Easter so I could have it. She asked if I was sick, and I denied it, but I knew....I just knew it was coming. Easter came and went and lo and behold , 2 days later there I was again begging my wife to stop laughing and fetch my miracle drug. After only 1 vomit, and 3 Hail Marys, I took a shot, drank some gatorade and went to bed. This was only the 2nd time I was using it so I was concerned the first may have been a fluke. I put my head down and gave it a shot. Next thing I know, I woke up 5 hours later. I was rolling around, sort of wired, but absolutely no nausea. I checked my emails on my phone, put it in airplane mode, smirked at my bottle of Emetrol and went back to sleep...for the night. I was never nauseous again after that 1 vomit and my Emetrol. YMMV, but for me, it just works. I am a huge baby when it comes to being sick ( and a few other things). Ill never be without my bottle again. :)

Have nausea? Even severe nausea? Taken as directed on the back of this bottle - 5 small doses SIPPED in an hour and 15 minutes - will get rid of most any tummy problem. But you must sip those doses to let it slowly go down your goozle to the tum tum and start it's magic - I was told this by my pharmacist decades ago - and we've been using it ever since - At Christmas I give huge gift bags to all family households in our family- and they always have a bottle of Emetrol in their bag - - Because inside their big bag they all - always have a small bag - of 'emergency needs' :-) You can't hardly go wrong with this stuff - - Our pharmacist told me all those years ago - it will usually even stop the severe tummy upset from food poisoning - - now what could be better than THAT?

I bought my first bottle at 3AM in the morning after being sick all night with excessive nausea and vomiting. It is the only thing that works and you can take another dose if the first dose doesn’t help. I have prescription nausea pills and this works better. Buy 2 bottles because you always want to have one available. I also sent my mother 2 bottles from my Amazon account. Relief is priceless and when you find something that works you want to share it with everyone you know.

This product works great if you can get past the really sweet, cloyingly sweet flavor, which is kind of counter-intuitive to intentionally ingest when you're nauseated. However, it works, I've used it for years, and it's getting harder and harder to find. Just be prepared for a blast of sweetness. For me, it's worth it because it really does work pretty quickly, for me.

I've been using Emetrol for over 40 years. Glad it is still on the market. With 4 doses, 15 minutes apart in one hour (read the directions) I have relief of nausea. My internist, PCP, recommended this product to me back in the 1970's. It certainly relaxes the stomach muscles which can cause severe nausea. It depends on the person.....of course. Prescription Antiemetics like Zofran, phenergan are great, but not all of us can reach a physician at all hours. I always have 2 bottles of Emetrol on hand so I don't have to run to the pharmacy only to find they are closed or are Out of Stock. It is a popular OTC remedy even for children over 2 years old. I usually order it on Amazon because the pharmacies in my area run out of stock quickly. A sure sign it works.

Emetrol works very well for settling the stomach when you have severe nausea. When I had a bad bout of food poisoning a few years ago, it really helped to reduce queasiness and vomiting. I prefer the lemon flavor to the cherry but the lemon is hard to find.
